Well now I just felt like updating the deck and came up with the best sideboard plan the deck could have asked for.Tortured Existence or TE for short is a midrange/control deck, though in my opinion it exists outside the spectrum of midrange and control, it is simply TE. You use mainly creatures because that is what TE can work with. For a full guide read: http://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/tortured-existence-essay/What made me change the deck was the sideboard plan of 2x auramancer 1 plains. The problem TE faced was that it needed to A) Survive, which meant cut down on the cool toolbox and run more cards like Leech and MongrelB) Get TE onlineC) Keep both TE and the graveyard through the entire game while staying alive while winning at some point. This made game 1 is almost entirely won through drawing TE making the deck feel weak and random at times.Running the auramancer package doesn't really hurt with 3 tilling treefolks and 4 ways of fetching for the plains. It just makes sure that you have TE online all the time, making you win a lot more games 2 and 3.
Grave Scrabbler gives card advantage, Tilling Treefolk gives lands once we start dredging, Wild Mongrel and Deadly Recluse are just amazing two drops. Deadly Recluse taking presidency over Putrid Leech due to Delver of Secrets and other flyers, ones that without running white mainboard, we have no ways to deal with. Spore Frog can win game 1 on its own, Crypt Rats wipe the board and Fume Spitter is removal. You try to survive the early game, get a TE, fill up your yard, plan 3 turns ahead and win.Just read this:http://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/tortured-existence-essay/
