In the everlasting words of Mr. Findlay; "Hell, it's about time".It is indeed the case that I have not attempted to make a deck with smallpox in it for enough time for me to change sheets, states, and slaughterhouse affiliations. So what's new? Well, the Nether Spirit is new, which made me so happy I wanted to kill myself. Seeing as how modern Pox lists have been lacking this staple for forever. And Barren Moor is new, which means that my life is complete... we can draw cards whilst dredging with LftL, hell, might as well throw in a Blighted Fen so that we can do everything from the bloody graveyard! All in all, the deck is better, a sentence in need of a caveat, for any who are familiar with the archetype will put fourth one of two arguments;1. Where is red?2 WHERE THE HELL IS RED?The lack of red is explained by two phenomena, equally eloquent as the questions which they purport to answer;1. Hello, I like money2. FunI - a proud pox player - could never bring myself to switch to Assault Loam, which is admittedly currently better than loam pox ever was. As enticing as Wren is... are, and as good as the decks that run it may be, it will forever be the case that I will enjoy slowly sucking the life out of my opponent... with a value engine that is virtually useless due to the prevalence of graveyard hate in today's metagame.
The decks gameplan consists of a chain of incremental advantages gained throughout the course of the first 4 turns. Be it via discard, land destruction, creature/permanent removal, or simply grinding them to dust, you eventually manage to either die (I wish!) or halt their gameplan.Once you've heeded the immaculate advice of Day9 - you in fact didn't die - you can now transition to phase 2, which consists of overdosing on value whilst working towards an unholy alliance of bears and zombies whose hordes begin to threaten your opponent's life total, or attempting to use liliana's ultimate for the fourth time in a game.A note on Tectonic Edge: Between 4 Smallpox and, 3 Spreading Algae it is my hope (for I have not yet built this) that Hard LD will show itself to be better than its many soft equivalents. And though I doubt Spreading Algae will be any better than I remember it, it might just be the case that this new build will be able to capitalize on the fact that 4 lands = 3 lands with Spreading Algae, and thus Tectonic Edge is way better than R&D intended it to be.Also, load up on proteins before you play, as some games can take long enough to where you win by starvation.

List looks solid. You're already aware of the grave hate, but I believe it's inclusion ebs with the popularity of Dredge (and now Hogaak, Arisen Necropolis decks). ie: grave hate becomes too much: these decks get shelved, grave hate lessens: these decks come back.I was king of expecting to see Maelstrom Pulse somewhere in the 75, and am surprised not to see it. Is 3 mana too expensive?

Honestly, I was also expecting to see Maelstrom Pulse xD I replaced it with Vraska, but given that I am already running 3 Abrupt Decay in the 75, it might be wise to switch one out for a Maelstrom Pulse. It's been a long time since I cast one, may have forgotten how good it feels to get a 2for1 with it.
