As for the dryad:1. It's like nimble mongoose maybe better maybe worse, depending on the situation. That alone is saying enough.2. A one drop! Great for vine, great when you smallpox-screw yourself over and great for blocking3. A 1/1 deathtouch can be ignored, especially in a format as fast as modern, but a 3/3 CAN NOT, not for long anyway.4. Nameless Inversion is atribal instant, that gets you halfway there! And the same can be said for Grisly Salvage.5. Turn 1 dryad turn 2 salvage will most likely lead into a turn 2 delirium, not sure on the math but I think I have pressed the draw sample hand button enough times to know. So, due to me REALLY wanting to play wtih vengevine but knowing that the jund versions are way beyond my budget, golgari versions are too slow and rakdos versions not consistant enough I decided to build this! This deck aims to capitalize on powerful discard tools like Delirium Skeins and Smallpox, the delirium bonus that Gnarlwood Dryad gets, Haakons late-game potential and ofc Vengevine.CONCERNS:1. Is 4 Grisly Salvage too much?2. Is Delirium Skeins the best discard spell for the slot?3. Is 23 lands enough?4. http://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/ideal-jund-dredgevine/ This is just better in almost every single way, right?5. And what about this? http://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/budgetish-golgari-vinemid-2/
In the early game Gnarlwood Dryads will protect you pretty well against goblin guides, swiftspears and really anything that can be blocked by it.Smallpox, while a nonbo with Gnarlwood Dryad is extremly good at slowing the game down and letting you catch your breath, free from all the glistener oppression. While you don't have too much removal or discard you have blocks, late game inevitability and the discard spells you have are very powerful.Do not mistake this for a Dredgevine deck! You play on curve, when you see an opportunity for some Vengevine shenanigans you take it, otherwise don't bother, don't keep creatures in hand in case you get a salvage or a vine. When you have choice between a salvage or a 2 drop that's the only time it might be the right move, depending on the deck you're versing ofc.Did not test this yet, though I have 50% of the needed cards and I hope to test this asap. Also, a non budget version.
