While not as good as Skred Red, it's MUCH cheaper than Skred Red.Shit worth talking about:Mind Stone: A really powerful mana rock that allows for turn 3 walkers and Solemn Simulacrums, this one turn difference has a huge impact on the game and can often win you the game or at least get you close to it. As an artifact it has synergies with Kuldotha Phoenix and in the late game it can draw you a card, which considering you are a mono red deck, you shouldn't be able to do.Relic of Progenitus: A great way to deal with persist and undying, graveyard decks, storm, goyf, finks and flashback IN GAME 1! It also cantrips which is really nice.Epochrasite: A great blocker in the early game and a resilient threat in the late game, also dies to your boardwipes which helps A LOT in the control matchups as they can ignore a 1/1 but not a 4/4.Solemn Simulacrum: Draws 2 cards and is a 2/2, just a good card.Kuldotha Phoenix: While not a Stormbreath Dragon this does a pretty good job of being a threat, the plus here is that it can be brought back should you have 3 artifacts in play.Lightning Bolt, Magma Jet, Roast: Cheap, good removal spells.Seismic Strike: While not Skred, this does the job just fine, even through you can't use it on turns 1 and 2.Chandra, Pyromaster: She is here for the 0 ability more than anything else. But the ping is pretty nice as well.Koth of the Hammer: One of the main win conditions, turn 3 Koth can easiliy win games and once you ultimate him you pretty much just win, and that's why he is in here, to win the game.Anger of the Gods: A board wipe, nothing more, just a board wipe.
You use Relic of Progenitus to disable any graveyard use, Mind Stone to ramp into your 4 drops, Epochrasite to block and removal to kill stuff. That's the early game plan, after that you get on the offensive with Kuldotha Phoenix, Koth and Epochrasite, you kill anything you don't want to look at and you win! It's just a simple control deck. The good matchups are the creature ones, anything that runs lots of small dudes, preferably without haste is a good matchup as we run lots of removal and efficient blockers. Slower graveyard decks are a good matchup as we have a set of relic mainboard, delver is good cause we run both gy hate and lots of removal, decks that pack too much removal, especially non-path removal are good matchups and tribal decks like merfolk or elves are an easy kill for us.The bad matchups are combo decks that don't use the gy too mcuh, control decks that like to say NO! and even through it might not look like it burn can be rough as well, but i'd say it's a 50/50. My budget decks are supposed to let you have fun! Which is what i think MtG should be about, i try to make these decks as competitive as possible while still leting you to have a blast while playing them. If you can make your friends to spend around 50$ you could buy 2-4(some of my decks are under 10$)And some are over 50) of my decks and make the experience even richer! Also don't just copy the whole deck(you can, but if you can improve something DO IT!), if you have a better idea pls let me know, i can't always make the perfect deck and sideboard. Again GL and HF!
