This turned out in an interesting way I have to say... The aim was to have a roughly 100$, easily upgradeable control deck for modern that can hold its own on account of doing relatively powerful things. And that is what this is, so good on me I guess? Though this can't beat Tron, so don't get your hopes up xDUPGRADES:4 Snapcaster Mage3 Cryptic Command4-8 Fetch lands & 3-4 Watery Graves2-3 Fatal Push2 Kalitas, Traitor of Ghet1 DamnationFrom then on maybe even The Bogeyman himself could be a viable inclusion. And eventually turning the deck into something like https://www.mtgvault.com/theswarmer/decks/modern-grixis-control/ might also be a good idea, seeing as how having access to Kolaghan's Command alongside Snapcaster is usually phenomenal.
The deck plays like a regular control deck, that is, it holds up instants, hits land drops, and eventually accrues enough value to turn the corner and start winning via card advantage.Into the Story and Drown in the Loch combined with Thought Scour are really what gives this deck its gallop. You usually won't get to go Into the Story on curve but safe to say that any game in which you have any chance whatsoever will - Rest In Peace aside - get to 7 cards in the yard. Drown in the Loch is just amazing, it is the counterspell that control decks have been waiting for AND it is also a removal spell?? Like what? I might get back into Modern now.Mystic Sanctuary and Deprive is fun. Gets even better when the Deprive is a Cryptic Command.Witch's Cottage might be a stupid inclusion, its aim is to be a 3rd copy of Torrential Gearhulk without being a 3rd copy of Torrential Gearhulk.
