Deck Description

A working budget affinity deck.

Shit worth talking about:
Master of Etherium: It is an anthem with a BIG body and in a deck like this, anthems do A LOT of work.

Myr Enforcer: A 0 mana 4/4? Where is your goyf now?

Springleaf Drum: allows your early game (that is turn 1) and your mid game (that is turn 2 and 3) to be much better and serves as a sudo artifact land.

Cranial Plating and Ensoul Artifact: They make anything a gigantic threat, and considering that half of your deck has evasion they are broken cards that win games in 3 turns or less.

Contested War Zone: Makes the deck work, without this budget affinity wouldn't be a thing. It's another battlecry and a really good one at that.

Thoughtcast: is as close as you'll get to ancestral recall in modern.

How to Play

You vomit your hand on the board and say go in about 3 seconds after your turn begins. Turn 2 you want as many Frogmites as you can get but whatever you do is good enough. Turn 3 you want a Master of Etherium or Etched Champion, the on curve plays aside, getting in with Cranial Plating or Ensoul Artifact is just fine and so is one mana Thoughtcast. Turn 4 you win, if not you want to develop the board even more and put them at virtually no health.

Now to go over some of the mega explosive plays:
Turn 2 Ensoul Artifact on Vault Skirge, Ornithopter or Signal Pest, not that ensoul on non-flying things isn't good enough.
Turn 1 frogmites into turn 2 Myr Enforcer/s
Turn 2 swing for 10 or more with Contested War Zone
A Cranial Plating swing on turn 2.
These plays are super strong and will win the game about 50% of the time.

The deck plays like an aggro deck, but faster and really, really, REALLY cheap. Now I'm talking the affinity kinda fast, the frogmite on turn 1 kinda fast the consistent 5 to 10 damage on turn 2 and the turn 2 or 3 myr enforcer kinda fast.
The ony weakness is artifact hate and keeping a one land hand and not drawing another mana source.

My budget decks are supposed to let you have fun! Which is what i think MtG should be about, i try to make these decks as competitive as possible while still leting you to have a blast while playing them. If you can make your friends to spend around 50$ you could buy 2-4(some of my decks are under 10$)And some are over 50) of my decks and make the experience even richer! Also don't just copy the whole deck(you can, but if you can improve something DO IT!), if you have a better idea pls let me know, i can't always make the perfect deck and sideboard. Again GL and HF!

Deck discussion for Budget Modern Affinity

I cannot overstate how much i like this deck! Build it with proxies, and it rocked! It was even able to beat a 300$+ deck ;) Nice, simple and effective

LOL I expected it to preform that way, it's the nature of affinity. You get 5 things down on turn 1 and next turn you swing for 10, Contested War Zone and Ensoul Artifact add to the explosiveness of the deck. And if it goes to the late game you've got Cranial Plating and Master of Etherium.
It's a pretty good way to get into modern for cheap too.

I would for sure take out a couple of cards a play Shrapnel Blast. It totally rocks in this kind of deck.
