Deck discussion for Mono Green Aggro

I really do like it! But what really is the point in the swords? They don't really fit your theme.

Please come look at my modern deck!

Until rotation Llanowar Elves are better for a mono-color deck like this than Arbor Elves. I would also make room for a few Rancors, and probably switch Thragtusk with Bellowing Tanglewurm, since Thragtusk isn't really an "aggro" creature. Overall looks good though!

How is Thragtusk not aggro? Just because he gains you life? And is evasive? Because that's not a good enough reason.

He's an awesome card, but I would rather have something like Tanglewurm which can be the critical blow to an opponent the turn it hits the battlefield. Even if you don't like that card, another Silverheart would even be a better choice. The 5-drops for an aggro deck are supposed to have a big impact on how fast you can take out your opponent, Thragtusk does nothing to accelerate that.

I see what you mean. Thragtusk isn't certainly as agressive as the creatures you suggested. It's just all the removal in the format now (Snag, Dismember, GFtT, Doom Blade) that gets me concerned with those creatures, since they can't snag Thragtusk, and the 5 life IS an instant impact. Also, Rancor and Revenge make a creature that lives very deadly (and Thragtusk lives through removal somewhat). Silverheart is good though, since Tanglewurm is sorta redundant with Champion in play. Also, I agree about the swords.
