Cipher ftw! (Ideas?)

by theking13 on 29 April 2013

Main Deck (63 cards)

Sideboard (18 cards)

Creatures (2)

Sorceries (3)

Instants (10)

Enchantments (3)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Saw an unblockable cipher deck being played, and fell in love with the cipher concept. Added quite a big of my own touches, such as Fog Banks, Consuming Abberrations, and blue control cards.

Wanting to make this a 60 card deck, let me know how you would change it!

How to Play

Get atleast two lands in hand, and a Curiosity. Helps alot to draw two cards per turn, and love having Invisible Stalker as it is hhexproof.

Once I start getting an advantage, either Talrand or Consuming Abberration can be used as kill cards. Talrand for 2-3 drake tokens per turn, or Consuming for lots of milling.

Deck discussion for Cipher ftw! (Ideas?)

Get your deck down to 60-62.

I really like how you exile your creature for IU, too bad it doesn't count for a spell here.

What should I take out to get to 60-62? Half the time I get the cards I need, others I draw into everything with Curiosity+Last Thoughts, but sometimes I get screwed bad.

Cut to 2 Consuming Aberration, Cut Dispel, Cut Last Thoughts. You should change some of your cipher to match what I had for milling.

A friend plays a simila deck. He likes to put his ciphers on an animated Dimir Keyrune :)
This helps it survive mass kill like Supreme Verdict :p

I prefer Invisible Stalker because it is unblockable and has hexproof and only costs 2 to get out. Having both can't hurt though.
