This is the ultimate red deck for Type II as of Magic 2010. Have been playtesting and it's absolutely brutal, especially now that paladin en-vec and story circle are out. Screw you, white!

Needs more Banefire. Fireball could replace Magma Spray. Classic red deck, the only difference is set 2010 adds uncounterable blasters. You'll need to replace the soon-to-be-illegal Shadowmoor creatures when Zendikar comes out. Lets hope the Zendikar block has quality red mono creatures. By quality, I dont mean cheap cards, like the quillspike/devoted druid debacle.

I like magma spray because it exiles creatures, which I find useful for those pesky kitchen finks/murderous redcaps, etc. Fireball is awesome but it's a pretty mana-intensive spell and I don't think that I can use it to its full potential in this deck. For the same mana reasons, I feel that it's not viable to have more than two banefires, and also because I only expect to cast 0-1 banefire per game anyway. I also hope that zendikar brings some solid replacement creatures. I will miss my demigods terribly :(
i really like this deck. i'm not too much of a fan of using x costing cards unless you have the deck to add the mana as well. I might play this deck in fnm.
Your deck is looking pretty mean too! Looking at it, I really don't see anything that should be added or changed. Are you planning on taking it to a PTQ? I am planning on taking mine to one on august 30th in fortworth, texas. I think both of our decks would do very well. Not to mention, they will be a white kithkin/ token deck's worst nightmare!!
Thanks a bunch, man! I will take it to the PTQ in Michigan if I am still in town when the next one happens, but I am planning on teaching English in Shanghai, China for a year starting this fall so we'll have to see, haha!
