Sure. When?
It's got no rares thus far. Limited playing time too. But as you can see, it's not bad. Ghitu encampment was a good addition.
updated to troll, not brawl.
Made a few but I have yet to find time to track and test my changes. I'll post probably over the holidays. Did you get the same deck?
Thanks! It gets little play time nowadays since my play group frowns upon decks with infect. It's not a quick kill deck unlike its BG counterpart in the play group which can deliver a T2 kill. I'd like to think it's a more patient, grind out type of infect deck.
Good one. I used to run canopy cover but I realized I like my creatures to bang around with my opponent's creatures to maximize the their potential (particularly rot wolf) so I switched it for rancor. And nobody likes blocking creatures with infect anyway (unless they also run infect) if they can't remove it. Good call on unblockable gameplay. I use distortion strike primarily because I like the +1/+0 buff. I'm thinking of something I can use like teleportal to replace it so I'm hoping WoTC would give the Simic something like that. Although I highly doubt it. I think I can use the rogues passage in combination with phytoplasm but that's a 6mana cost combo for 1 creature to deal damage. That's a bit of a stretch for my mana curve. At 4 mana, I can proliferate at my opponent's end step. I might as well go exalted if i switch to that one-shot-one-kill strategy. Unfortunatelty, cathedral of war is rare. LOL. Peasant format is a little tricky but I thoroughly enjoy beating decks who have serious card advantage over me. I always tell guys in my group how easier it would be to just throw in inkmoth nexus and wild defiance. But I am adamant to keep rares out of this deck.
I forgot about apostle's blessing! I'll consider running it on my peasant infect deck. Overall, looks like a solid build. Have you considered vampire's bite for this?
Yes. In peasant format, you are allowed no more than 5 uncommon cards in the deck. So much as I love might of old krosa, it's gonna mess up my ratios. The next best thing would be groundswell but I got a guy in my play group who runs BG Infect with it and I don't wanna seem like I wanna mirror his build. Thanks for the input!
Exactly. In my experience, I only have use for proliferate to end the game with 1 or 2 turns. That's where viral drake is crucial. Apart from it being an excellent defender, it brings another dimension to my offense.
too heavy on the mana curve. also, i don't really aim to counter my opponent's spells except fog or something to that effect. hence the corrupted resolve on SB
Phytoburst? Thanks. I'll test that and see how it meshes with the current build. But I must say I like the element of surprise this deck has. On the other hand, a little more fire power wouldn't hurt.
The idea was to keep it simple so even beginners can appreciate the game. A number of times, we had a few people play with us but lost interest because they were overwhelmed by the complexity of the game. Hopefully this works. Stay tuned for updates.
I agree. 22 lands would make things easier for me. I forgot I threw in acidic slime last minute. Those were originally a set of garruk's companion. I'll think about trading vines of vastwood for 2 more forests. I just had those 2 from another deck. Just updated the deck list based on your suggestion. Thanks for the input!
I agree with DedWards. I think momentary blink would be better than stave off. But since you're running selensya, cloudshift should suffice. Also, it might be nice to have join the ranks on your sideboard. You'll never know.. Other than that, i think this will be a difficult deck to beat once the life gain starts pouring in.
