Deck Description

Uber fast combo deck. Turn 4 standard kills. Takes down all T1 decks and costs less than $50
At this point, I havent seen anyone else playing it, but my pro buddies all agree it has serious "legs"

If you are familiar with the old runeflare trap decks, you will love this. The goal is to reverberate a molten psyche as quick as possible. 7 cards in hand = game over.

Have fun and please comment!

Deck discussion for Molten Psyche Madness

Played against this deck online earlier tonight and got smoked on turn 5. I used to play Runeflare, so I could see it coming but didn't have anything to hide behind. There's potential here.

not bad at all, although, a weenie deck would seem to be the slight weakness of the deck, I mean, if they are just building up on creatures and making their hand fewer and fewer in turn making this combo not so versatile. if you play extended, then brow beat would be a great card, because then you can force the three card draw from your opponent. But if its about staying standard, then you may need to add some blue because blue is more famous for the draw.

I would agree with the weenie comments. Elves and Kuldotha give me trouble. I end up sideboarding pyroclasms to stall and if you can chain a couple keys and bells, you can get the win. In extended howling mine would be amazing, but I only play STD right now. As far as the blue, I ran a version with Jace 1.0 but the molten/reverberate combo requires 4 red mana...Its too hard to splash IMO.

Thanks for the comments!!

i have had problem with this original set up of molten psyche and runeflare. against early weenies is really tough. also molten psyche may come too late or not come at all, and not have enough punch to seal the deal. i believe the only way around this is to ramp up the drawing and add an additional win conditions. take a look at my modified molten psyche deck.

Very up-front deck. Blue counter would stop it in it's tracks completely, but it has super quick potential. I must point out though that including the 3 Mox Opals makes this a much more expensive deck than $50, so you may want to change that or at least make note of it.
