Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (12 cards)

Creatures (1)

Sorceries (6)

Instants (4)

Artifacts (1)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

Yes, I realize you probably have an elf deck that you think is TOTALLY cooler and WAY MORE AWESOMER. That's cool, but I love mine. Still, I'm completely open to any suggestions/comments.

Coat of arms in sideboard for the infinite combo if I want it (devoted druid + presence of gond + coat of arms = infinite elves)

Other great combos:
-Immaculate Magistrate + Joraga Warcaller
-Mercy Killing + most of the deck (pump own creature, then sac for tokens, or make opponent sac a threat, then their new elves still pump timberwatch, wellwisher, priest, and wirewood pride; drop pride/timberwatch on taunting elf, and swing, killing all their creatures).
-Taunting elf + Infiltration Lens (+ Ezuri's regen).
-Devoted Druid + Presence of Gond + Immaculate Magistrate (or timberwatch/pride, but then druid dies) for LOTS of tokens; Symbiote/Lodge for more untaps for even MORE tokens. Not uncommon for this deck to have hundreds of tokens on turn five.

I've thought about Nissa instead of the Wellwishers, but I don't see me needing her. If I get one in a pack, I'll throw her in, but I haven't gone out of my way to buy one yet.

Cool deck

I like the combo Devoted Druid + Flourishing Defenses. But i dont see the point of taunting elf.I would use it if i had big non-trample monsters in my deck. But with a lot of tokens you dont acutally need it do you. even if the oppenent blocks 5 out of 12 tokens, You just power the unblocked with timber and pride up ?? Or do i miss here a point ??

Taunting elf is in here for control--I pump him up with timber and pride, and force you to block, killing all of your creatures.

Taunting Elf actually has to be blocked by anything that can block it, so all the other creatures get through, which is tons of creatures...getting puumped.

Ever thought of Ambush Commander? It worked really well for me so...

Also, keep Wellwisher, and don't use Nissa. Mercy Killing let's you kill creatures, and Wellwisher gains you life for the tokens, and the tokens become useless! You also get mor of a pump with Timberwatch!

If you have stuff that pumps your creatures, so you can sac one of them and get a bunch of 1/1s, Mercy killing is good. If you also have a lot of stuff that buffs off of "each Elf in play," then Mercy Killing is brilliant.

Had a friend tinker into a Blightsteel on turn 3 the other day. I Mercy Killing'd it, giving him 11 elves, tapped my wellwisher for 13 life, then dropped a Wirewood Pride on my taunting elf, swung at him for 13, and killed all the elves I just gave him.

what you could do is make an infinite elves combo using Devoted Druid + Presence of Gond + Coat of Arms = Infinite Elves by just putting that coat of arms in ur main. works like this: 0/2 Devoted Druid and Coat Of Arms in play.

Attach Presence Of Gond and tap for an Elf giving him +1/ +1

Untap putting a -1/ -1 counter on him making him 0/2 again.

Tap with Presence Of Gond producing another elf giving him another +1/ +1

Untap putting a -1/ -1 counter on him making him 0/2 again.

Rinse and repeat until infinite.

Heh, that's in the description, and it's why Coat of Arms is sideboarded. I get bored with infinite combos easily--they're fun sometimes, but they get old. substituting Immaculate Magistrate for the Coat of Arms works for a whole lotta elves, too though.

I just drew a hand: 1 Priest of Titania, 2 Joraga Warcallers, 1 wirewood pride, and 1 timberwatch, with 2 lands and 1 land coming. This deck is scary.

Minus Gaea's Cradle, it's a pretty cheap deck--Magistrate, Warcaller, and Priest are the most expensive cards. beyond that, there's one or two that are around $1 apiece, and the rest are cheaper than that. You could easily build this for $25-$30 if you have none of the cards (again, minus the Cradles).

Hi Church !
I must say, this is pretty damn awesome. Lots and lots of combo's - tons and tons of opponent agony, haha. Very jealous of your Cradles - I'd really like 1 or 2 in my Elf deck, but the price keeps rising, and the money are few.
How long have you been playing MTG? I find alot of your decks on the front page, where'd ya' get the wisdom, Holmes?

Haha, thanks, man. I went out of town for the weekend and saw this on the front page, which was pretty cool. I've been playing on and off for about 4 years total over the past 12. I don't really think I'm that great, I only really play casual with friends--the stress and cost of tournaments just isn't for me, haha. For me, it's just all about knowing cards, and comboing them. Glad you like the deck, man.

Genesis Waves are indeed evil, especially in a Landfall Deck, I actually semi-remembered the combo Taunting + Lens. I learned that from you. *Bows* Thank you :D
Again, when looking at this deck, I find meyself to be even *more* jealous of you Gaea's Cradle. Man the exploded in price when Zendikar hit the market :-O
Keep them secret... Keep them safe, haha :-D

You clearly know more about elfs then I do... could you please check my decks and comment on what shoul I change? thanks... just click on my name on this comment =D

Ps. I have to say that most people play elfs for their mana generation qualitys so normally i see elf decks with big creatures or "X" spells, but yours the first one that is only elf based, and since you have such cheap elfs and so much mana, you could play with elvish visionary to get a little more draw power, or even glimpse of nature =P.

0

Glimpses have gotten really expensive, and elvish visionary is really good (I have a deck that uses him and Wirewood Symbiote to return him and play him over and over for draw power). In this deck, though, there just really isn't anything to take out to put him in. The draw engine here is infiltration lens, especially if I can put it on Taunting Elf. Thanks for the comment, though, I'll be sure to check out your deck.

Yeah you're right, glimpse and visionary/symbiote are really good drawing abilitys but Infiltrator lens and taunting elf can work too, i kinda prefer glimpse, it has sorta nostalgia to it =P

I hear yah. The base of this deck is all nostalgia for me, lol. As for glimpse, my first "hiatus" from Magic was just as the first Mirrodin block was ending/ Kamigawa was coming in, so I don't have the same connections to it, haha.

Haha, I haven't used her much--I have two buddies who use her as a commander, and she's pretty boss. The Zenith might work really well here...I'm going to playtest it, and let you know. Thanks!

I had a 224/224 Primordial hydra and couldn't attack because of GLissa xD the game ended up as as draw... both of us had removal but strangely no one got draw it on time (my opponet had doom blade I had Beast within)

Parallel Lives, and Parallel Evolution. Creating 100 tokens, instead creates 200 tokens. Then Evolution for another 200 tokens. Then Flashback it for another 400. So a small math equation 100 = 800

I dig it, but honestly, the game rarely goes that far. I have plenty of tokens by turn 4-5 to end it. I would probably add those in (and some doubling seasons) during some multiplayer, but otherwise it's just overkill.

Haha, this deck originated in the Onslaught block, and while I have doubtless, nameless, and reckless ones, I never pulled a heedless one. It really does fit the theme of the deck, I've never really used them. Any suggestions on what to take out?

0

You've got a ton of mana generation, but not much to spend it on. I would suggest throwing some Wren's Run Packmasters in there so you can create tons of deathtouch wolves with its mana ability. I have a friend who plays an elf deck that revolves around Wren's Run Packmaster, Seedborn Muse, and Taunting Elf and it's quite good. And if you're worried about your combo creatures getting taken out, there's always Asceticism.

0

I love my elf/wolf/ally deck that focuses around Packmaster--with this one, the mana goes to the card draw I usually get with infiltration lens, or if not there, into a Genesis Wave or Ezuri overrun. As for Ascetism, I've thought of it, also had Eladmri come in and out of here in the past, and while this deck is weakest against removal imo, by the time I can get Ascetism out, it doesn't do much good. I've also used Canopy Cover/Swiftfoot Boots on the important guys in the past. I appreciate the tip, though!

Have you considered Rhys the Redeemed? Great for token elves, but perhaps a bit slow for this deck. By the time you get him rolling you should already have won.
Instill energy could possibly give you a bit extra speed, giving you some extra haste and untap. Also, you could add some summoner's pacts or green sun's zeniths to thin the deck. Perhaps remove 2x warcallers for pacts?
Just some ideas from the top of my head, really liking your deck.

Check out my elf deck if you feel like it, quite different from yours ;-)

I know what you mean--this has been a work in progress for years--I've opened/traded for pretty much everything in here when it was either new or cheap, the only cards in here I paid more than $3 for were the Cradles. Many cards in here have aged fairly well.
