Decks with Stuff: Green Aggro

Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (15 cards)

Artifacts (1)

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I have lots of free time to be used! Since I noticed that many different types of decks are being ignored in standard, I will try to create budget decks that are competitive on these ideas.

Decks of Stuff will try to make competitive Standard Decks that nobody uses at a budget level(around 15-25 dollars)!

Suggestions are appreciated:)

How to Play

Get a lot of creatures on the board, then swing for the win! Aspect of Hydra and Reverent Hunter can be devastating, with all this devotion. Surrak, the Hunt Caller can make your attacks faster and your kills quicker. Scaleguard Sentinels, Swordwise Centaur, Bassara Tower Archer and Avatar of the Resolute is for the devotion to green.

Looks like it will be a fun deck to play. Once the bow of nylea is in play people be targeting it if the have something to remove it with. How consistent is the pull on it? I would think about a third one if possible, maybe sideboard.

Thank you for the comments! I guess adding an extra bow to the sideboard could help.

You need something with trample to ride aspect pump up, I get that you can use it on the one that got through but charging badger is just too cheap too ignore. Skyreaping over plummet.

I must say, a fine deck indeed, if not, for its cost at least. Now, there isn't much I can say that could improve this deck, but perhaps consider Reclamation Sage? I just think that a 2/1 that destroys an artifact or enchantment cannot be ignored - it has so much versatility. It may be for 3 mana, but I think it could have a place in this deck. Just an idea.

Very nice standard deck. And it's budget to boot! =)
Have you played it much? Since, well, almost all of the cards will no longer be standard legal in a little over a month =|
still, great job. +1!

Well, he can easely switch some cards there. First of all, we'll probably get another Elf ramp at drop 1. And we still have Servant of the Scales that is nice with the best green creature in Standard, that is Avatar of the Resolute. The only problem is Reverent Hunter, we can't replace him but, we have other good stuffs like Yasova, that is a 4/2 trample creature for 3. We still count with Surrak, but lose Nylea, her bow and Aspect. But we'll probably get something cool to replace. I think we only miss a dragon to use Scaleguard Sentinel. A 3/4 creature for 2 is very nice. But we only have one mono green drag, Foe-razer regent that is too expensive mana cost and worthless. Destructive Dragon doesn't even worth to say...

Man, I really think you can't forget about Avatar of the Resolute. He is like the most powerful creature for this deck. You can still switch Charging Badger for Servant of the Scales to pump Avatar.

If I were you, I would do this:

-2 Charging Badger
-4 Scaleguard Sentinels
-2 Bassara Tower Archer

+4 Servant of the Scale
+4 Avatar of the Resolute

With it, you can easely do this:

T1: Forest > Servant of the Scales
T2: Forest > Avatar of the Resolute (he'll enter 4/3 because of Servant's Counter)
T3: Forest > Reverent Hunter (he'll enter 5/5 because of your 4 devotion)

It's kinda good start. You can still use the +1/+1 from Servant if he dies. You can certainly press hard your oponent. And it'll be cheap. :D

By the way, I think 24 lands is too much, 22 or 23 is the right numbers.

Thank you for your suggestions, it really gave me some ideas for the deck. I never knew that Avatar of the Resolute was only $1.50 for it being such an awesome card. That's why I didn't run it in this deck. Thanks again for your suggestions :)

Yes! His price is kinda ridiculous comparing to his power level. But it's because he has no position in any format yet. But I think it'll find some place with Magic Origin.

I would run 4 evolving wilds (budget) that way you don't get flooded on mana late game. You could also consider Hero of Leina Tower the pay x could make her huge.

1
Posted 13 June 2015 at 18:43

Thank you for the suggestions. My only concern with Hero of Leina Tower is because I don't have enough spells to target it in this deck. I will run a few evolving wilds in the deck.

even a basic gatecreeper vien could be good

what about some aspect of the hydra to give your creatures some large boost for the turn

0

The only problem that I wouldn't run the cards you suggested is because it would make the deck too slow. This deck doesn't have many high drops so the mana boosters wouldn't really help. Plus, some of the cards you suggested aren't even standard!!!

P.S. I already run aspect of hydra. :)

Remove the evolving wilds, they don't give you any advantage. http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/print.asp?ID=3096

"This is fairly surprising. The overall impact of fetch lands upon the number of extra spells, (as opposed to the true lands the fetch lands removed from the deck,) drawn is not nearly as high as the number life sacrificed for the effect. While the dead draws over the first 16 turns are not surprisingly negligible, over the first 16 turns we cannot realize, on average, a single extra card from our fetch lands. Even if we propagate this data further, the first card we see in the 4/16 case is not realized until around the 36th turn, and at an average cost of 2.8 life. The first card for 8/12 is realized on the 25th turn, but at a cost of 4.3 life."

You don't see any advantage until the 36th turn...

HARDENED SCALES!!!

1
Posted 15 June 2015 at 15:02

The reason I wouldn't run hardened scales in this deck because it does something only if I get Avatar of the Resolute on the battlefield. This means that most of the time it will be a dead card.

Hey this is a cool deck with this set! I love mono green and I definitely like the idea of whats going on here.Though I wonder, instead of the Sword-wise Centaurs couldn't you put in kalonian tuskers?

Well not just that, it's too much money to put in the deck. You can change it if you want to make the deck. I'm just making a budget version that can still be competitive.

I am still scratching my head why Avatar of the Resolute is so cheap (moneywise). What's wrong with standard that a 3/2 for 2 mana with no less than 3 abilities (one of which can make it considerably bigger!) is below-one-dollar-rare? I bought a playset when they were at about 1.30€ apiece because I thought "such a powerhouse can't possibly get any cheaper, buy them NOW". Meh.

Nice deck dude, consider sideboarding Setessan Oathsword and/or Solidarity of Heroes. They can do some deadly damage early game.

Thank you for the suggestions! I do believe that Solidarity of heroes does work pretty well in this deck. I consider it here. I t could potentially make a giant Reverent Hunter or a Avatar of the Resolute.

Great deck! However I adjusted it like [this][1]:
+1 Terra Stomper (bomb at high end that gives green for devotion)
- 1 Scaleguard Sentinels (it's weak and it's there only for giving green for devotion)

Sideboard:
+2 Ainok Surivalist (I prefer it over Reclamation Sage for it's cheaper and more aggro)
-2 Reclamation Sage
+2 Abzan Beastmaster (card drawer in case game lasts longer)
+1 Ruthless Instincts (if there's a big flyer and also helps to overrun)
-1 Hunt the Hunter (very special, 2 must be enough)
-2 Nylea's Disciple (two should be enough to add life)
