Deck Description

A creatureless bant control deck- except for tokens from Garruk, Primal Hunter. The goal is to lock down your opponents field, stopping spells before they are even cast or drawn, and set up for a planeswalker to win you the game.

How to Play

Game one: Board sweeps are your friend, especially against aggro. You'll want to use counter spells wisely to slow down any growth, and Detention Sphere and O-ring threats as they hit the board, which is especially useful with Alchemist's Refuge for EOT or precombat creature removal.

Game two: Sideboarding is essential. If your opponent isn't running Cavern of Souls or many of the can't be countered spells (Abrupt Decay, Slaughter Games), then side fill up on counterspells, and stop them in their tracks. If Cavern of Souls is a problem, Ghost Quarters answer that, as well as Kessig Wolf Run, Alchemist's Refuge, and Slayers' Stronghold. And if they're playing a 0 basic land deck, Ghost Quarter is free land destruction. If Abrupt Decay is killing your D-Spheres and O-Rings, or Slaughter Games is wrecking your win-cons, then Nevermore is your answer. It stops whatever happens to be causing you problems, and if it's planeswalkers or pesky other abilities, then Pithing Needle is your friend.

Just bide your time, slow down your opponent, or stop him completely, as I've done to some slower midrange decks, and you'll win- though not with any great speed.
