First of all, the failure // comply is only in the sideboard. Having the island mainboard, it would become a dead card in hand, and in play it would only serve as a colorless land. Failure // comply is only in the sideboard to play against a second sun deck, which doesn't get cast until usually turn 6 or 7. By then, you will definitely have at least one treasure in play which you can sac for any colored mana. The whole point of not running blue lands is so that the opponent doesn't expect a counter spell when they cast 2nd sun. Any good player would likely keep back a couple extra mana to counter a counterspell. The opponent is more probable to cast 2nd sun without holding mana back, if they think you are not running blue for counterspells. Secondly, not only will you have multiple treasures to sacrifice for blue mana, but there is also the Spire of Industry which can help produce blue, as well as he survivors encampments which can produce blue. To rely on one of two evolving wilds to fetch a single island should I include it in the deck seems redundant.

Thanks for the CC!This deck was derived from a legacy/casual deck which revolved around dovescape and pride of the clouds (huge flyer), along with a legacy card called righteous cause, which would pretty much negate damage from their spells-turned flyers, and i wanted to try to maintain that mechanic as best I could, but you're right, the dovescape is somewhat out of place. I originally had ghostway and the verdict mainboarded, as an opponent board clear combo, although it is a 2 card/ 7 mana combo, it usually preceded a win. Plus it usually turned out that my 1/1 flyers would be bigger than the opponent's due to my buffing enchantments. However, with many legacy instants/sorceries which I had to replace to make this modern, I can see how dovescape could come back to bite me. As for the path to exiles, I was planning on making the switch eventually.... but the swords to plowshares are significantly cheaper and I know this won't be winning any major tournaments, so am only working with cards which I already have.
It is really broken when you play against a mono colored deck. truth be told however, that is usually not the case. even when playing against a two colored deck, the opponent will usually have more than just the basic lands. Still, splintering lands is quite fun lol.
basically a deck idea i recently thought of. any tips or advice is appreciated, and feel free to check out my other decks :)
Any tips, or input is greatly appreciated :)
Yea I'd consider sideboarding thoughtseize. But in general it's not a speedy burn spell.
Not sure if it's been said yet, but might I suggest perhaps descendants path? Its still standard until October.
