Deck Description

This has been retired for a long time, but its pretty much my first deck that I really started focusing on designing. This incarnation of it is the result of our original playgroup's rapid meta evolution from casual to competitive.

This started out as basically a Burn / Ensnaring Bridge deck, I only had one Bridge to start with, and it splashed green for a bunch of Fog effects. My pile of cards turned out to be surprisingly brutal against the casual creature decks most of my friends played.

Over time I added to it and made it more consistent to counter the various strategies that developed to counter it.

The Iso Scepters and the Pyro Ascension lead to some pretty ridiculous explosive bursts to win the game. That essentially became the backbone of the deck.

Hide/Seek was a later development to counter an increasing amount of artifact hate being put into decks, and turned out to be surprisingly powerful on a Scepter.

Deck discussion for Casual - Iso Ascension

I never played against this deck. Is this your so-called "Burning Bridge" everyone still talks about?

Yeah, it started with basically just ensnaring bridge and some lightning bolts. At one point it was even red/green with fogs... and then it quickly evolved into this as the decks people played against it starting changing.
