IMPORTANT RULINGS ABOUT ISOCHRON SCEPTER:

10/4/2004: If this card leaves the battlefield while the ability to make a copy is on the stack, the ability will still make a copy using the last-known-information rule.

*^*This means if they hose your scepter in response to using it, you still get to cast that last copy*^*

12/1/2004: Isochron Scepter's second ability creates a copy of the imprinted card in the Exile zone (that's where the imprinted Instant card is), then allows you to cast it without paying its mana cost.
12/1/2004: You can't cast the copy if an effect prevents you from casting Instants or from casting that particular Instant.

*^*This illustrates that using the scepter does indeed count as casting a spell, and thus counts against Arcane Laboratory. Don't forget you can cast once on THEIR turn as well.*^*

12/1/2004: You cast the copy while this ability is resolving, and still on the stack. Normally, you're not allowed to cast spells or activate abilities at this time. Isochron Scepter's ability provides an exception.

*^*This is just kinda interesting and also elaborates on how it counts against Arcane Lab*^*

A more consistent, aggressive version of this would look something like this:

Creatures (32)
4x Virulent Sliver
4x Plated Sliver
4x Spinneret Sliver
4x Sidewinder Sliver
4x Talon Sliver
4x Muscle Sliver
4x Sinew Sliver
4x Ward Sliver

Spells (8)
2x Kodama's Might
3x Blessed Breath
3x Sigil Blessing

Lands (20)
10x Plains
6x Forest
4x Graypelt Refuge

Sideboard
1x Sigil Blessing
4x Quick Sliver
4x Gemhide Sliver
2x Harmonic Sliver
.

I would like to think that too, but the rulings seem a tad contradictory. The last bit about the Mayor of Avabruck would indicate that the Mentor stops functioning with Marshals and Warchiefs on the field. However, the first part could lead one to think the weenies still trigger.

9/22/2011: You only check the power of the other creature when it enters the battlefield.
--If it's 2 or less, the ability will trigger. Once the ability triggers, raising that creature's power above 2 won't affect that ability.
--Similarly, reducing the creature's power to 2 or less after it enters the battlefield won't cause the ability to trigger.
9/22/2011: Apply power bonuses from counters the creature enters the battlefield with and continuous effects like Mayor of Avabruck's when checking to see if Mentor of the Meek's ability will trigger.
