Life gain is different then it was a long time ago. With Archangel of Thune, the hordes of armies you can unleash using White Sun's Zenith and Ajani, Caller of The Pride become 3x as buff do to the effects of "every time a monster enters the battlefield, you gain 1 life" effects. If that doesn't succeed, the classic Felidar Sovereign is now even more effective thanks to cards such as Brave the Elements, Rebuff the Wicked, and especially Silence.
Start with the basics. Play Soul Warden, Soul's Attendant, Auriok Champion, and use Fiendslayer Paladin as a hard to remove blocker. If a situation occurs, use Brave the Elements, otherwise hold onto it as long as possible until you receive Archangel of Thune. Do not fear removal too much, around turn 4 or 5 you should have an Emeria, the Sky Ruin on the field. It's unexpected, and a pretty effective land to return your most important creatures. Use Ajani's -8 or White Sun Zenith to gain massive health + buffs + creatures. Once that's achieved, Brave the Elements, and that's gained. If you end up drawing Felidar Sovereign and meet the win condition, use Brave the Elements to allow it to live. If it dies, Emeria will come to the rescue. The sideboard of this deck contains cards that will adjust your deck depending on the playstyle of either defending to gain life, gaining an army of unstoppable creatures, or winning by strict life gain.
