Deck Description

Would something like this even work... The general idea im going for is keeping their board clear of creatures then once i have the mana start discarding/exile their graveyard. im not sure if i have enough discard cards. im thinking of adding jace's i just want to know if the general idea would work in standard and if it would what i would need to add/ get ride of.

Deck discussion for MILL/Would this work in Standard

It may work, I was thinking myself of making a discard/mill deck that follows up with Haunting Echoes for a complete crippling of the opponents deck.

I would alos suggest removing Hideos End, as it is simpyl a more expensive Doom Blade, perhaps change it out with a board clearer like Day of Judgement or Consume the Meek. I think removing white may be a good idea however as you are really only using it for is silence.

Also replace Disperse with Into the Roil as it is a better card completely, for the same mana cost.

do you think adding more white to the deck would be worth it... such as arrest/day of judgment?? and then dropping Hideous end? or just dropping white all together?

Well if you decide to keep white, use Journey to Nowhere instead of Arrest. Day would be very handy in case you lose your grip on the opponnent and they pump out alot of creatures, such as against an Elf or Goblin deck.

Is your preferred wincon just milling the opponent? because you lack the damage necessary to have reducing life to 0 as a wincon. Because of that, Hideous End is worthless as you are paying an extra mana for damage that basically means nothing. Go with Doom Blade instead.

This means that based on what you have up there milling is your only option, the problem from there is that you HAVE to mill them before they can kill you, which means it has to be very fast. I think removal of white altogether is a better idea, add in Consume the Meek for dealing with those fast creature decks.

Leyline has to be a 4 of, too many Eldrazi going around that just kills decks like this.

Actually you can use something like nihil spell bomb instead of leyline (although leyline is going to be more useful) and when he is put into a graveyard you exile it in response.

There is a Standard Deck very similair to this called "Roiling Crab" which is bassically a Deck revolved around Hedron Crab/Roiling Terrain. It's surprisingly effective and if you want to got for Standard Mill I would definitely suggest having a look at it! :D

i would add couple of sadistic sacrament in the sideboard to remove your opponent eldrazi creatures from game cause they just crush mill decks trust me from first hand experience i run a mill and run merocide to and take out dispel and put in negate and run 4 perordains and take out unsummon and run aether adpet it does the same think and it a creature to and run liliana to for her second effect to get the cards you need faster sideboard doom blade and you only need 2 traumatize more than 2 it's useless and only 2 haunting echos
for your side board put 1 platinum angels 2 spreading seas 3 sadistic sacrament 1 whispersilk cloak 2 jace erasure 2 duress 4 doom blades
Take a look at my mill deck take the swamps out and splash black instead work a lot better that's all i can think of now.

Comment on my decks.
