Deck Description

*UPDATE 8/1/10* Removed mythmaker, never used him. added bear umbra. added 2 palace guards. removed one fauna shaman. removed one flickerform.

Utilizes the gnarly combination of "Auratouched mage" and "flickerform", as well as some aura-based heavy hitters like Kor Spiritdancer and Aura Gnarlid.

play auratouched mage for 6 mana and instantly smack eldrazi conscription on it for a 13/13. Enchant her with Flickerform and use its ability for 6 mana and smack ANOTHER aura on it.

Or enchant Pariah to a creature already enchanted with Indestructibility and you practically win, better yet enchant it to Protean Hydra.

Why everything else?

2 protean hydra because of the ability that makes it so, when it is enchanted with any form of +X+X, it is immune to combat damage. Hydra and Predatory Urge is the perfect bread and butter; kill off little creatures while making the hydra stronger.

2 paradises because everyone loves them. And, if need be, you can enchant them with Shield of the Oversoul or even indestructibility for an indestructible flying cock-blocker.

2 fauna shaman in case you dont get an auratouched mage or anything that would be good in combination with another aura.

1 nomad and 1 retether in case you somehow get screwed.

canopy covers and shields, need I say more?

The reason why i dont have 4 of each enchantment in there is because i added 2 Three Dreams, so with that i can just pick out whatever auras are needed at the time.

The only REAL weakness of this deck is like... blue cancels/mind controls and black sacrifices. So, when going up against a black sacrifice, stick a couple Gelatinous Genesises in there and make a bunch of 1/1's to use as sacrifices.

This deck is nearly finished. Feel free to make suggestions and of course, criticize. Also keep in mind this is my first deck I made using the resources of MTG vault. I've made quite a few decks using my own cards, but never quite had the freedom to do it like this.

Deck discussion for Best Aura Deck

WOW!! OH MY HECK!!!! I never looked at Protean Hydra like that!!! his almost invincible with a +0/+1 enchantment or artifact or..... anything!
What is the purpose of having Ajani Goldmane in the sideboard out of curiosity he is really nice but I dont see a ultimate purpose.
Anyway Great Deck

Yeah, hydra is a little bit insane. And I just threw Ajani in there because he's the only planeswalker I physically have and planeswalkers are always useful. After all, this is my aura deck.

I understand, it's sort of a "is there really anything that I could add that would be more helpful then a planes walker."
nice deck :)

You should use Noble Hierarch instead of Birds of Paradise.

Yeah, I totally would, if I felt like spending $50 on cards that essentially do the same thing as birds of paradise.

Since you have Pariah I would Consider adding Phytohydra. That will make a it insanely huge and protect your life at the same time.

Instead of four Hyena Umbras on the sideboard try two of them plus two Phytohydras. Not quite getting the Ajani Goldmane. Replace him with Garruk Wildspeaker, he fits the theme of the deck more, with the land untapping and all. Pariah and Indestructability paired is such a great combo. Big fan of the Aura Gnarlids and the Auratouched Mage/Eldrazi Conscription combo. Great deck.

Noble Hierarchs are a bad idea. Not only do the Birds of Paradise generate any form of mana where the former generate only three, flying is a far greater advantage in this deck than exalted. Enchanted with Indestructability or Shield of the Oversoul, Birds of Paradise keep the skyline clear, a spot where many aura decks our vulnerable. Llanowar Elves could be handy in addition to the birds. The more creature mana producers, the better.
