Deck Description

-- U/B Control --
-- Win conditions -- Duskmantle Seer -- Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver -- (SB) Mind Grind --

How to Play

Slow your roll with this control build, keep the board clear with 20 kill spells or you can board in up to 12 counters for that certain match up. Your main win con is Duskmantle Seer slowly killing your opponent as well as a pseudo mill and Ashiok, Nightmare Weaver exiling and taking their creatures as well as milling. Your things get killed, no problem rinse and repeat with Elixir of Immortality and get them back while also getting back all your control.

I like the build a lot...but maybe you should try to up the count of seers for consistency. Something else that I like (but dont have enough thassas for) is Seer + Thassa. The scry trigger is always good to filter out potentially hefty blows from the seer's effect.

i would cut atlest 1 of the quickens and add a thassa to the deck just to make it alot more interesting :P

this deck would be better if the kill spells had more utility. Like the hero's downfall and the dimir charm are good because they have more options. But ultimate price and doom blade I feel like sometimes are just dead draws, especially with the sheer number of kill spells. Zach_255 is right, thassa would be very effective. And, if you wanted to make this competitive, you could run the exact same thing with 4 thassas and 4 nightveil specters for a pretty effective blue black shell. Nightveil specter in todays standard is often "when you deal combat damage to an opponent, draw a card" and thassa would be a creature pretty easily between the two of them.

I will definitely consider this option, I will be getting all the cards I need to build this and testing it soon so I will see how it plays out. Thanks!

Pretty sweet. Is quicken just a cantrip to thin the deck?

I could use feedback on my standard deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/thelogician/decks/rdw-impostor/

Yea, if I splashed (W) I could add Sphinx's Revelation and Verdict but I personally don't like running 3 colors. My options for card draw consisted of; Underworld Connections (still considering), Divination, Pilfered Plans, Quicken, Opportunity and Read the Bones (still considering; 4 cards is a lot to filter through) I may be missing some but those are the only ones I would run.

Really? That's awesome. I bet people had no idea what they were doing against your deck! What were the other decks that people were playing?

Lots of blue and black devotion, a few esper/Uw Control, and some less conventional stuff.

AWESOME! I dropped Ultimite Price for another edict effect in Far // Away, I can't wait to get mine going.
