Deck Description

Another spin on my beloved Stompy =]

This one will feature more old-school and pumping cards. The title is actually from what one of my opponents said after a ton of pumps to my Llanowar Elves killed him.

Deck discussion for What just happened?

I like how it looks, but why verdant catacombs?

It speeds up the deck or aids in "deck thinning". You basically increase the probability of drawing something you want. You'll notice I try to put fetchlands into most of my decks.

As for why them versus, say...Misty Rainforest, the art is cooler =]

Ok, but then why not terramorphic expanse? 'Cause verdant catacombs makes you pay 1 life.

Terramorphic Expanse puts the lands in tapped, which makes no change to the speed of your deck and can even make it slower. Paying 1 life is not that big of a deal. I hope my decks will help show newer players (not saying you are) that paying life, taking damage, and kill your creatures can be ok. Simply put, if you're worried that paying 1 life will make you lose, then you probably will...but not because you paid 1 life. Get it? =]

Ok, I wasn't worried about the 1 life thing, I was just wondering why. Also I am kinda' a new player, so if you could check out a few of my decks that would be great, mainly my token deck. Thanks.

primal bellow would go good with soul's might say you had 7 forests and played primal bellow thats +7/+7 that's a good amount but add souls might and you get 7 +1/+1 counters and +14 for the turn

Nah, Soul's Might is grossly overcosted for what it does. =/
