Deck discussion for Spirit of War

Glitterfang shenanigans are always the most amusing part of spirit decks, this one is no exception. Except maybe Rally the Peasants, just because I find that phrase to always make me laugh.

Rally the Peasants is quickly becoming a new staple of Boros decks, and for damn good reason...It's practically custom made for the style of play you see from Boros.

Glitterfang is more useful in the deck than I even thought it would be. With Balefire it becomes amazing. I played a big multiplayer game where I ended up having 3 of my 4 Balefires out, and 2 Glitterfangs...complete shenanigans =P

I saw somebody use what seemed to be just a RB spirit deck, and they actually managed to just sit there and win off of Glitterfangs and a Kyoki 0_o

Funny you'd say that, Arty's currently working on a Kyoki EDH...I saw him put Cloudstone Curio into it...I am not looking forward to that =[

I want to make a RB spirit tribal...but I'm not yet sure how I want to structure it.

Wow, that's almost as sick as when our shopkeep decided to sit there and kill everybody by recurring memory jar.

One of my friends found he could take advantage of that and killed everybody but shopkeep with Megrim XD

Megrim is honestly a very important card in MtG's history...it led to the invention of a new deck type O_o

(A very fun decktype at that =P)

I finally gave up on my playset of Hymn's it was difficult, but I did. It hurt my soul. I gave it to a player I know will use them more than I have recently.

I've been trying to get the people at Troll Emoticons to try for support here, but in the meantime this will do

I must be really dumb, or really tired, but I still have no freakin clue what you're talking about....Support?

I like this build a lot. It reminds me of a casual deck I had a while back. I had a bunch of hearthfire hobgoblins in there to act as my mirran crusaders (of sorts). Red and white can be a nasty combo.

Awesome synergy with Glitterfang, Spiritual Visit, and the Balefire Liege! That just owns the game, imo. But is the genju really that useful?

It's a potential 6 damage on turn 2 and has nearly endless recursion. So yeah it's pretty good

Hey man. A couple weeks ago, you said you'd check up on a legacy build of mine (Canadian Thresh with Miracles and Countertop) once you got the time. Just reminding you about it. I also made RUGWolves for standard if you want to see. Guess I've had a bit of a RUG fetish recently or something. :3

So Glitterfang is basically for Baku and Balefire? I like recurring Bolts.

Thanks for reminding me man, I apologize but I had just forgotten =\

I'll get to it as soon as I can, unfortunately I am (still) very busy. If I find free time I'll check on it though

As for glitterfang, yeah he's amazing for arcane shenanigans

am i right in thinking balefire liege+lightning helix means that you deal 6 damage and gain 6 life...?

Yup.

This looks very annoying and effective. I bet it is fun to play. I revisited the arcane spells recently to put together a U/W spirit deck, I love Tallowisp: Geist of Long-Forgotten Gohei.

Cloudstone Curio makes the Balefire/Glitterfang combo so much more potent.

Isochron Scepter, that would be my only recommendation, Helix on Isochron with Balefire out is borderline ridiculous. As a 2 of maybe, by cutting a single Helix and lantern for it(just my opinion). That aside this looks like a lot of fun to play.

To be perfectly honest, once balefire hits the field, the game is already in my hands. I love isochron as much as anyone, but just one balefire'd helix is enough to make most people scoop.

lolz, don't you love spirits? one thing I'm guessing that would be a certain game-ender: gisela, blade of goldnight. Wouldn't that be funny? lightning helix with her AND balefire on the field. 12 damage, 6 six life? Id take that for 2 mana ANYTIME. anyways, could you help and comment on my deck? it needs some touch-ups. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=328444
