Deck Description

I've wanted to make a deck like this for a while now, and with Phyrexian Metamorph, I finally decided to make it -- A copy deck!

Deck discussion for Seeing Double

sure i got a question, its not bout this deck but i makin a blue/white infect deck and im still undecided is paying 2 life worth giving your opponent 3 or 4 infect(creature is unblockable)

I'm going to assume your referring to mutagenic growth. In my unexpert opinion I would say it is worth it because they need to deal 20 damage to you while you only need ten and infect decks are supposed to be fast anyways.

And nice deck idea here :P

Paying life, if it means it will make you win, is always good. This is something that separates Legacy players from Standard players more than the available card-base IMHO. A Legacy player isn't afraid to kill themselves if it means their opponent is killed first. Take the card Dismember for example. A lot of Standard players think it's not that good, a lot of Legacy players think it's amazing.

hey sure.....i wanted to ask this question before, but i know youll look at the comments of this deck, also btw, amazing deck as always, you always know the right mix of messing with someone and shitting on them at the same time.

ive looked all over, you seem to be the Stompy deck champion of the ages, and i really really love the idea behind it, what is the TRUE definition of stompy? i have a very good idea, but i dont want to make a stompy deck just to have its stompy-ness disproved by others....weird as this request sounds, id really love to hear the answer

I consider myself very good at making Stompy decks, but I actually learned from my buddy DoTheWumpus. I'd be happy to help, but you should ask him too.

The true definition of Stompy is mana efficiency perfected. The idea is to get the absolute most out of the littlest amount. For example, a 2/2 for 3 mana is inefficient. Both its power and toughness are 1 lower than its mana cost, and thus it is 2 'wasted mana'. Now think of Rogue Elephant, the card that gave Stompy its name. A 3/3 for 1 mana and you have to sacrifice a land. That's 6 total between the power and toughness for just 1 mana! Or...5 'surplus mana' yes, you have to sacrifice a land, but the original Stompy deck was so insanely efficient that it only needed to use 10 lands. These decks are now called 10L Stompys.

Anyway, that's the idea of Stompy. Supreme efficiency in every way. So...a word of advice is to have some means of card drawing that is of course efficient. This is because with all that efficiency, these decks can't even really keep up with themselves!

This is a pretty awesome deck, and incredibly unique

You don't even know dude. I'm strongly considering using them over Spell Pierce in my Extractions. It's that good. Oh, and it just craps all over Storm decks =D

I think it definitely takes the place of Spell Pierce in eternal formats. It doubles as an anti-storm tool, and functions in the general pace of a game better than Spell Pierce usually.

I am seriously expecting another false shift like with Misstep though, it'll just deal with a few decks, but it will leave the door open for a lot of shiny new jank builds.

I love jank builds! They're the most fun for an Extractor =]

0

Problem with my jank is that it all winds up ending it's arguments by saying 'and I play nether void', which while a good way to get people to scoop, isn't really a problem for your decks since you can just deal with my ghasts.

I have been looking for some sort of nice recursive beater that can go alongside them, but really they'd all wind up an even greater liability. :|

Yeah...that's why Extraction is so good against Reanimator...your decks basically work by putting yourselves in our crosshairs =P

but when we win against y'all, it's just that much sweeter. Shame it barely ever happens...

I love Phyrexian Metamorph even more than I love Mimic Vat. Both in the same deck? Now that's a sweet deal.

I personally love lighthouse chronologist! My question is that if you have x out at once, when an opponent finishes his/her turn, will they alll trigger giving you x amount of turns?

Also as a side note, i'm trying to get into legacy a little and built a reanimator. its called Dead Rising. Would you mind checking it out??

0

The effect of having multiple Chronologists out is cumulative, you'll get additional extra turns.

And I can take a look, sure. Always happy to see someone try out Legacy =]

Hello Surewhynot,

As always beautiful. I have nothing constructive to say in regards to this deck, however, I noticed you have Gigadrowse in this deck and not your "Id tap that Deck" (which again, is my fav of yours!)....any reason why? Just curious.

Also, I noticed you having a conversation on Stompy decks up above....I appreciated the definition as I have made a black stompy, but was unsure if it really was in fact stompy at all. I was wondering if you would give it your magic touch. Unlike most decks I build, I would actually like to own this deck and not just play with the idea so your input would be very appreciated.

My tap deck is about tapping enemies and keeping them tapped. Gigadrowse is more of a reactionary version of that idea, so I used a different card in its place.

Glad you like this though. =]
