Deck discussion for Pauper Landfall

One thing I was wondering is if I should take out the Nimbus Wings and replace them with a playset of Hyena Umbra.

Just put hyena umbra in the sideboard.

And you should make a "umbra" deck. Get creatures that have protection from the different colors, then use umbra's on them. GG

Thanks I'll probably do that. And I actually made a casual enchantment deck. It's not all umbras, but it does its job.

It seems that on mtg, you've gained a lot of respect.
so i recently made a nice little boros deck, and then i came across this deck.
same colors, same landfall principal,
and i was wondering if you could maybe take a look at my boros deck? (type 2)
nothin fancy, just a cheap deck to get the job done.

thanks man :3
nice deck by the way, not the same concept as mine, but the landfall is amazing.

Personally I think the mana count is a little low for a landfall deck. But I was wondering if youd take a look at my near-death experience casual deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=125738

The mana count isn't low at all, just look at the mana curve. and even though it only has 20 lands, it still makes surprising use out of land fall because of explorer's scope. nicely done surewhynot.

I have always been a big fan of "All Commons Deck " I like what you did here and went home to see if I had the cards for it an sure enough each card was sitting there for me.
Would you use hedron Scrabbler or Hedron Rover in there anywhere?
Here is my All Commons Deck see what you think of it or if you wouldn't mind building it. Its a fun little land destruction deck that only cost me $11.00 dollars to build.

Hey thanks man. I made this deck because it is so cheap to make. I like "recruiting" new players to MTG, and showing them a good fast deck that costs them just $5 max is a great thing. I have seen some of those players put in the Hedron dudes, and they work pretty well I suppose.

I'll take a look at your deck as soon as I get a chance =P

i know where the next 4 dollars of my money is going to.

although i feel lightning bolt could fit well in this deck. its a common and any deck that plays red plays 4 bolt

True, but some shops sell bolts for 25ยข to a dollar each. I made this to be minimal price, and the bet was to make it under 4 bucks. =]

I love pauper decks. Anytime I find one I love it more or less. This is a pretty cool build for so cheap. Maybe a grazing gladehart for some lifegain?
Anyways cool build, keep pumping out the pauper decks for us poor people! I am trying to build a black spash damage deck for MP if you wanna check it out...Keep doing sample hands and it isn't working as well as I had hoped.

This is beautiful. I can't wait to order the cards for this deck and have it as a second. cheap decks work for me. Love the concept. Love the deck. Keep up the awsome work. I actually like the placing of Cosi's Ravager because it creates the threat of winning without the attack.

The only thing I am going to use in addition is a playset of Kor Skyfisher. Being able to bounce a land then replay would only be awsome. And if you have played a land already, Atlas it. I would highly recommend its use. I would drop 2 Griffin and 2 Lynx. Kor Skyfisher is just too useful in here; replenishing your abilities for when you really need them.

nice deck Surewhynot. I know it is for $4 but I don't agree with the ravager. Too bad Emeria Angel cost so much. How do you feel about adding 4 Artillerize? =]

I don't get why people dislike Ravager so much. It's a lot better than you think, and adds a constant threat to the battle.

I think I'm going to buy -almost- this exact deck, Im replacing ravager for bolt, but only because ravager only targets players, so you can't take down their jaces or other stuff like troublesome 7/1 creatures and stuff like that.

Hmmm i think i might build this just to try it out, well done sir.

Cool deck, all commons :) only 22 lands though, and no way to draw more? Probably okay but could be unlucky pretty frequently.

Also the ravager is amazing, it has to be blocked or the damage can be boosted too much.

0

um no. the deck is consistant because the Terramorphic expanse and evolving wilds thin the deck. so you get the lands quick enough. Any more than the 22 lands would be flooding you hand with too many.

In my version, I even dropped 1 plains and 1 mountain for 2 Boros Garrison. Its an infinite Landfall. Just keep bouncing itself.

0

Exactly. 22 is a ~little~ elevated for an aggro deck like this, but being landfall based, is just about right. The deck probably won't win any multiplayer games, but 1 vs 1 you'll be surprised what it can take on.

Its too bad this is an all commons deck because Arid Mesa would be beautiful in it... Anyways its a nice deck build and I probably will make it to try out seeing as I have almost all of these cards laying around.

Have you ever tested this deck out before? Just curious how well it did because it looks pretty affective for just an all common deck, nice job!

0

Yeah I've seen many people use it at my shop since it costs almost nothing to make. It's surprising how fast it is, and how well it can take on other decks.

Not to do thread resurreciton, but....

I agree. nice deck, but there's no way I could get it for $4. Every store I know sells commons for $0.25 a card, and playsets off eBay are pretty much $1 for 4 cards, so this deck in more like $10 (and that's if you can find someone selling Steppe Lynxes 4 for $1). But I love the idea, and it plays out quite well.

0

Oh yeah! It's surprising how fast it is to be honest. I designed it to get more people into the game, and what's cool is they can take this design and tweak it however they want and make it even faster!

I suppose this IS pauper so you can't really play Bloodghasts, but I have to say it's really weird to see you build a landfall specific deck without it!

Came across this deck and got it for myself. It stayed under $16 in my local store, which is a great bargain for such a fun deck. Had a few games with it already, and while it's indeed best suited for single play, it also did fairly well in multiplayer games. Wonderfull deck!
