Heartless Hidetsudu EDH. I love this dude, the artwork, the flavor text, and of course...the ability. Aside from a few tricks, the idea is simple, drop everyone's life total to smaller and smaller values, and out-aggro for the win =]
Mono-Red has a hard time in EDH because of the 40 starting life total. Red is a quick color, but can run out of steam. The idea with this deck is to chop that 40 down to more manageable numbers (20, 10, maybe even 5) and prevent running out of steam. Playing it is generally pretty simple...Play tons of quick little creatures to put on the pressure from the start, then use Hidetsugu's ability to knock everyone into kill-range. If you're lucky, you'll have a few of the damage reducing cards out and can then abuse the ability to its fullest =]

ahahahaha Bruce Dickinson ftw! I guess this is (or will be, more to the point) the Mannichi EDH you said about on your 'hell of a thing' thing. This is probably stating the obvious, but i would recommend all the "out-of-balance" creatures. You know, the ones with major differences between power and toughness or things that can change such attributes. I like this play style quite a lot actually as it creates very versatile creatures, deadly attackers, and strong defenders. - Valakut Fireboar - Char Rumbler - Ruhk Egg - Ogre Menial - Sandstone Warrior - Chandra's Spitfire - Spite Bellows - Torchling! - DWARVEN WARRIORS :O (make something unblockable - then flip it! amazing damage output!) - Dwarven Nomad - Same - Imperial Recruiter - Useful red creature tutor in this eck! - Rabble Rouser! - Dwarven Thaumaturgist - Spikeshot Goblin - FLING - Essential in this deck. No questions asked. - Kiln Fiend! - Hero of Oxid Ridge - Electryte - Hamletback Goliath! - Brawl - Elemental Mastery :O! - Where Ancients Tread - Raid Bombardment - Warstorm Surge - Rush of Blood! - Moonveil Dragon I could probably find more, but i can't do all the work for you! The next thing you will need is plenty of red mana, so can you play with all these ::puts on sunglasses:: FLIPPING awesome creatures (like if you get it). - Koth of the Hammer - Inner Fire - Battle Hymn (this literally provides HALF the mana required to flip all your creatures) - Braid of Fire - Iron Myr Notable Mention: Isochron Sceptre. Honestly i thinkin this deck, putting Battle Hymn or Fling on it in this deck could be devastating. Hope this helps :)

I've got a fever, and the doctor said the only prescription... WAS MORE COWBELL!
YEEEEESSSSSS!!!!
Surprisingly red has a lot less unbalanced creatures as I thought. Sooooooo, instead I'll have to MAKE things uneven =P
Well...now that my Ink-Treader EDH is a major threat to Arty's Horobi EDH, I think I'm going to change this. Mannichi surprised me...he's not as good as I thought =/ So this will still be my first mono-R EDH, but now it will be with the red general I wanted to use for a long time now...Heartless Hidetsugu. I have some disgusting tricks in my mind for the big dude =}
Wow, hes almost as O.P as skittles. Would hate to see a guy playing him at my local game shop. I have a question. You don't own all the pieces to all your decks, do you? that seems a little ridiculous to me...
Well yes, and no... Lets say I have two or three decks that use 4 copies of [CARD NAME]. I don't necessarily own 8 or 12 copies...I most likely just own 4. What I do is use a lot of proxies to save time in place of swapping cards between decks over and over =]
Godo + Grafted Exoskeleton :( ?
Nah, with the Exoskelly, I would end up killing everyone, myself included.
I know, that's why I suggested it :)
I normally ignore EDH decks here on the vault, but I must admit Heartless Hidetsugu makes an awesome general :) Have you thought of adding Overblaze (or similar) to make it so Hidetsugu can kill in one activation? All you need to do is make sure you're on an odd life total and the opponent is on even >:)
How come you ignore EDH? I would have pinned you as someone who'd love EDH. Anyway, yeah, I've been trying to make some new EDH's for generals whose colors I haven't used yet. Mono-Red was one of them. A big problem with mono-red in EDH is that red is the color that gets hurt most from the 40 starting life...and so with this guy, I can put everyone into a more comfortable kill-range. As for the Overblaze, etc. stuff, I thought about it, but I think it's a little too janky versus being worth it =/
I'd love to play EDH, but no one in my group is willing to :( I ignore the decks because I've got no experience of what the format is like :| I think I've got a Heartless Hidetsugu or two, I should use him sometime...
That stinks =/ I love EDH because of how genuinely different it is compared to anything else...
Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't 21 damage from a General result in a win? If so, Heartless Hidetsugu is kinda broken
It's 21 combat damage. Were it just damage then yeah, he'd probably be banned =P
