Deck Description

"Perish in your madness..."

I've finally figured out Tempo decks...Here is mine. It is designed to force the game out of your rhythm, and into mine. This deck will FORCE you to make mistakes, and punish you for them. Worse, each mistake just leads to more.

You ready? Too late...

Deck discussion for Intereo In Obscurum

Out with Faerie tauntings :) I have played with it, and it never cam to good use, instead you could add, Lilliana's caress and Ooona's Blackguard for badass discard control :P

Well I can't add both, but thanks for the suggestion. I was a bit on the fence about the Tauntings, so I'm glad to get a second opinion. =]

Also, i think that Oona Queen of the Fae is too expensive mana wise :P But just my opinion :) Mind looking at my Faerie deck? Called Faerie's again, again

Hahaha! I actually looked quite a lot at that deck when trying to figure out Tempo decks. So I suppose I owe you two thanks, it's quite good. =]

As for Oona...I felt that a late-game bomb was what I needed most, and she fills that role brilliantly. =]

Also, after crushing hopes with her ability, I can totally ruin someone's day with Memory Sluice =]

Yeah its a late game bomb :P But you dont really need it with, Bitterblossom, Oona's Black Guard and Liliana's Caress :P Attack with 5 faerie/rogue tokens, under the influence of the Blackguard your opponent loses 10 life's and discards 5, then loses 10 additional lifes :P

Countersquall and Perplex? Now you're just being mean to people.

Damn right. Liliana's caress played the turn before Perplex is just awful. "Either that card you REALLY need to play is countered, or you lose all your card advantage and take an ass-load of damage".

Can you explain the strategies in here? I can get ideas of them but i'm not sure I'm getting it right...

not to be insult, i'm merely curious.

Sure. The idea here is that with many of the Faeries having "Flash", and with how many of their abilities mess with the opponent's ability to play things/do certain actions, the deck forces the game into a "Tempo".

These decks are REALLY frustrating, as I can attest to having played against them. They make you flustered, and feel...rushed. You seriously just start making dumb mistakes because of how much you've been pushed "out of rhythm". I can't really explain it better than that without you actually playing against one of these.

The flavor text of Pestermite perfectly says it -- "The fae know when they're not wanted. That's precisely why they show up." =]

quick question, your decks are insanely well constructed.. But i don't understand the logic behind this mechanic? especially since your trying to prolong this battle and slowly drive yo ur oppenent into madness...
cards like thought seize and bitterblossom would kinda put you ina disadvantage would'nt it?
BAAHH damn this game and all its growing deck types!! >.<

This deck is actually an aggro-based Tempo, which I think works better for the idea of Tempo, since the aggro aspect is often another factor in throwing off the opponent's tempo. So in reality, this deck doesn't want to prolong the game at all, much the contrary. =]

Memory Sluice is cool - love the card. However, other than being face slap, which would affect the opponents thinking - and thus the tempo (your stated goal) it does nothing special to build up on your deck (which is, by and large, a faerie discard deck). Id vote to drop the Memory Sluice and replace it with either two more Liliana's Caress, Oona's Blackguard - or heck one of each if you are feeling tight.

Moreover, Dash Hopes would fit well in this deck as it another card that both undermines the way a player thinks about their deck AND has the possibility of taking advantage of it. That said, the counters that you have selected already, do the trick just fine!

Overall, like most of your decks - beautiful and brilliant! How do you go about building these decks so well - and how do you manage to get your decks recognized and displayed so prominently. I have no idea how many dozen decks are made each minute - and yet is seems like at least a couple of yours are on the most popular list at any time! Wow! (btw, thanks for your advice on my deck last time - sure improved it!)

Well as always dude your comments are greatly appreciated. I completely forgot about Dash Hopes! I have a foil one too! =} You're correct, way more fun than Memory Sluice!

When I get an idea for a deck, my mind is flooded with all the cards that could be in some way used in it and/or associated with it. Then, I sort of..."argue"...with myself and figure out how I want it to look. Then I sort of play it out in my head and make some final mental adjustments and then toss it together. Final step, aside from maybe printing some proxies out so I don't have to constantly switch cards between my deck, is to load it up here. Once I get an idea for a deck, it usually takes me about 5-15 minutes to make. =]

And of course, I'm always happy to help out. =]

I'd like to add, for the record, that River of Tears is my favorite land of all time. Amazing, haunting artwork, excellent versatility, great flavor text, and perfectly appropriate name for how I use it. =]

I have a soft spot in my heart for U/B decks, and just cards in general.....You have outdone yourself this time "sure." Thank you for this, I would just add in a leyline of anticipation for when I play, just to abuse the flash ability even more :] Great synergy!

Amazing Deck! I have to say, your Faerie Deck (as well as drumhead21's) make me want to make one, a lot. Really, all I got to suggest is Oona, Queen of the Fae, for a really good Late-Game Win-Condition. Other than that, wonderful job and cograts on Front Page! :D
