Deck Description

Not sure why I haven't posted this yet. This is my Elemental tribal, all revolving around the flavor of burning everything to ashes =]

Deck discussion for Incaendium

I think the Brawlers flavor text pretty much sums this up man.

Hahaha, pretty much. Obsidian Fireheart is turning out to be a much more powerful card than I even originally thought. It's pretty mind-boggling how good its land burning ability (btw, epic reminder text "The land continues to burn") truly is...it wrecks people.

I love the interaction between Soulstoker, Harbinger and Nova Chaser. Grab a Nova from your deck, chuck him at the opponent, then when he dies and Harbinger comes back in (from champion) you can find another one!

The "best" card in this deck though, is probably Braid of Fire. You'd almost think it was an Elemental tribal enchantment the way it helps them.

Wow, that trick with the Harbinger is probably insane in your tribal format. And Braid of Fire is just insane like that no matter what you're doing with it in mono-red, with elementals it just seems like cheating :|

It is crazy. And actually because of this deck Elementals have been on-and-off in our Tribal stuff. Our shop owner gave it a "soft ban", which basically means if someone doesn't want to face it, I have to respect it, but otherwise I'm free to play it =]

I can understand having a soft ban on it, but with a strangely masochistic thought, I feel I'd take it as a challenge :P

Let's say the opponent has 5 lands out and you made 4 of them have Blaze counters on them. For the rest of the game, unless the opponent destroys those 4 lands, he will be taking 1 damage from each one (so at least 4 damage per turn). The remind text "the land continues to burn" not just sounds awesome, but functionally it's really powerful, and undermines a TON of defense strategies =]

wow thats actually, REALLY good, imo just wow, xD. yea braids of fire just basically turns this deck into a superpower, and i would enjoy playing against it.

I'd personally go Lightning Bold > Flame Slash. Not only will you be able to cast at instant speed on opponents turns, but also on your upkeep when Braids of Fire triggers.

The thing I like about Flame Slash for this deck is it's better for clearing the way for my attackers, which is a big focus...However I have considered the Bolt =/

Yeah, in the end, the Bolt is just too useful =P

Hell's Thunder is great and all, but I wanted this deck to have a fiery theme to it, as indicated by the title, Incaedium (Wildfire, or "fire out of control").

Only question I have for this is why all that mana if the only things you can use it on are brawler, fireheart (btw beast card), and banefire which isn't even mainboarded.

Off note, this is one of the very few red decks I actually like, but this one looks awesome

Thanks man. The mana does become superfluous at some point, but being able to dump a crapton of mana into Brawler, Fireheart, and Soulbright (to give things trample =D) is such a powerful benefit.

Elementals are easily my favorite creature type BY FAR. I've always wanted to build an elemental tribal (though mine would be RUG). This is a fantastic deck. SOOOOOO good.

Question: Why sideboard Quest for Pure Flame? That is EASILY one of my favorite red cards in the game, and I feel like it could gain A TON of momentum in this deck.

My opinion aside, this deck is utterly amazing. Nice job.

Honestly most of the stuff in the sideboard is there because I like to mix and match with this deck all the time depending on how I feel like making it play. Quest is crazy though, especially with Browbeat =}

@destroyer, As much as I love Ashling (both versions), I feel like she requires a deck to be built around her to much =/

Dude, I'm sure you've thought about it, but eh, what the heck, I'll ask it. Why no Kln Fiends ? And by the way check my Elemental deck and feel free to tell me what you think of it.

0

Kind of the same reasoning behind having no Ashling. Kiln fiend is one of those dudes that you need to really build around =]

I love your decks, Sure. I'm getting more experienced with deck making, but my only deck to get out there is Sexiest Cards in Magic on the frontpage, and that's not even a real deck. :/ Do you have any tips for me to get my decks with actual potential out there?

0

The thing I'll always say is the #1 way to get your decks noticed is to get yourself known. Be helpful, show up on as many decks as you can. Even if it's the smallest measure of advice, or a suggestion of one card, it's still something, and people will appreciate that. I have close to four THOUSAND posts...and I'd venture to say that about 80% or more of those aren't even on my own decks =]

Thanks so much, Sure. I'll be sure to dump as much spare time as possible into advising others on deck builds and cards and anything I can think of. Watch that random decks button get mashed like potatoes.

Obsidian Fireheart + Braid of Fire is a beautiful thing. Also, that Harbinger trick is really cool, never thought of using Nova Chaser to champion it so you get an extra fetch. Friggin' smart. Also, why no Fling? Throwing a Nova Chaser after swinging is pretty scary.

I could use some input on my new Legacy Orzhov deck:

This is an amazing deck man seriously, I thought some of these cards were useless until I saw them used like this, I guess technically no card is useless.
BTW I would like it if someone would take a look at this deck I'm making http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=323012 its still a work in progress and I'm trying to see which cards work and which ones don't.

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this question. I'm trying to get a few friends into MTG and I made a couple of your decks because I really like the tribal themes. We're playing a lot of multiplayer FFA and I was curious what you would change in this deck (if anything) to make it strong in a multiplayer game.

0
Posted 07 January 2013 at 03:53

Not really. This deck mostly excels at beating the daylights out of one person (as in, 1 vs 1). However, if you are playing multiplayer, you can simply stick to beating the tar out of one person, then shift over to someone else, so on and so forth. This deck, flavorfully enough, is like fire. It starts as a smolder, then heats up quick, and before you know it, it's grown out of control. What I'm saying is, once you blow past your first target in FFA, the next will be a breeze with all the stuff you'll have at the ready =]

Hope that helps, and have fun =]

This gave me some great ideas for an Elemental deck idea I was struggling with. Thanks for introducing me to some cards I was unaware existed. I'm not ready to post mine yet, but it's definitely going to have some of the cards you've introduced me to. Mixing in Tyrant of Discord and/or Malignus could be fun! Thanks again!

Does braid of fire work for anything but casting instants during your upkeep? I believe the new rules on mana pool and mana burn make it so your mana pool empties at the end of each phase or step...is that what you intended?

Also, I could use some help with my gate deck. Just click on my name and check it out. I only have three decks online, it will be obvious.
Thanks!

0

Yeah, but it provides mana to a lot of activated abilities from my creatures, so it's worth it.

Yeah, it really only takes a few lands to be "burning" to make a noticeable impact. This deck is slightly different now than what I have currently posted here, so I'll have to update it when I get the chance.

Nah, this deck is for our shop's tribal format, so while it's technically a legacy deck, it won't really be facing genuine legacy decks, just other odd tribes.
