Deck discussion for Good Grief

This deck looks very fun to play and very challenging to play against. I can tell from your other decks I have seen posted here on the Vault that you like Surgical Extraction/ Extirpate type cards that exile a players combo cheaply and without a doubt very destructive.
My most recent deck has some Exile methods I use against my friends as well. If you get a chance take a look at my 3 color Elemental Horrors Deck.

MmmmMmmm, Braids-y goodness with Nether Void.

They really do go together like peanutbutter and Jelly =P

However, the most notorious part of this deck so far has been the Tormented Souls. They're quickly taking a spot on my list of favorite cards ever...so much flavor and use! =]

Really? I wouldn't think Tormented Souls to be that big of a deal, being an estranged cousin to Nether Traitor.

But then again I'm usually more focused on establishing a lock nowadays, and then usually winning through a manland, or that most beloved recursive beater known as Bloodghast.

People usually dismiss them because they're just 1/1 and can't block, but up to 4 unblockable damage per turn that you can't do crap about...that adds up quick.

They're exponentially better in aggro though. I tossed them in my Black Sacrifice deck...holy balls dude...

In aggro it's insane, and it's a nice chiseling effect for control, but I always feel slightly dissatisfied with it in control.

That's what you used to say about using Bloodghast in control =P

Dang it... You have a point.

1/1 unblockable for one. Nothing wrong.

Mmkay, after testing Tormented Soul a bit I am pretty pleased by the card. It's not quite my buddy Fume Spitter, but it's pretty dang great.

And yes, I have actually used Fume Spitter in Legacy. Everything went better than expected.

Dude Fume Spitter's great, I use that thing in a number of decks. TS is good to above average in "chiseling" control decks, but in aggro, he's damn freakin good. In my spirit tribals, he's a monster, especially in my G/B one "Gloom" where I can pump the hell out of him and swing for a crapton of unblockable pain =]

I'm considering making a really cheesy unblockable deck...Thoughts?

Maybe jitte would go good in here? I know it's not exactly classic MBC, but with tormented souls and bitterblossom, it could EASILY get out of hand.
just a suggestion (:

That it might...Especially with TS swinging away...

exactly! (:

p.s. i recently tried making a forgemaster deck in legacy, and has a potential turn 1 win (on the draw)
i'd really enjoy some feedback, when you get the time.
i hate advertising, but meh, i'm proud of my combo LOL

Also, the Jitte was a damn good idea man, and the suggestion led me to use it in mah cheesy unblockable deck =]

Thanks man! I appreciate the feedback :'D

And I'm lad I could help! i saw tormented soul, and unblockable + jitte is just broken... and then bitterblossom + jitte is brokenx2, so might as well have jitte, haha!

This an awesome build. I do just have one question though in that I'm curious as to why you'd prefer geth's verdict to a targeted kill spell? Just want to see you're reasoning for it as I'm looking to get into other formats beyond standard.

Geth's Verdict get's around annoying things like Shrough or Hexproof. It's an instant speed "You make a tough decision now" card. Often times (Especially in Legacy), every creature is important, and losing one is a major loss of board control.

Hey there Surewhynot, it's good to see you again. I've been offline for a while. Check out the new Modern deck I've made. :)

Looks good, sure. As always =)
If I had the cash, man . . .

I think 'Dark Prophecy' from the core set, could give you some card advantage.

I would also suggest 3 or a full ps of Fetch lands to take the heat off Undiscovered´s and aid the Ghasts. They just keep coming
