Something I thought of that sounds pretty funny. No idea how it will work, but still.

Yeah it's a fun one. Always like backwards decks.
sooooo....have a tideforce, walking atlas and either the ravager or hed crab out, treasure hunt into a fistful of lands then go crazy?
You need to add fetch lands. That way you can have as many lands enter the field of play as possible. 4 scalding tarns, 4 Arid Mesa, 4 Misty rainforests. Also wouldn't a Venser's journal be useful?
I didn't see the scribnibbler side board before, I like that even better than cosi's ravager (I do realize the ravager gets the job done faster but still...)
Ravager gets it done faster than Scribnibbler, yes. But Hedron Crab is just as fast as Ravager (assuming the opponent is playing a 60 card deck) and with Scribnibbler in play too that would actually be faster. I agree, I like that better, and if I had the imagination (and hutzpuh) to have come up with this deck myself, I'd have built it that way. The way he has it is a little more versatile, though.
I just have to say that I now have this deck put together, however I run 2 trade routes in it and oe less hedron crab and one less walking atlas. Thanks for the great deck idea man, I love it!

Haha! Nice :-)
What if you worked in a Voltaic Key to untap Atlas then begin landfall shenannigans
No wait that wouldn't work, dammit now i'm going to be thinking about this all day.
Add Cloudstone Curio.... have Cloudstone Curio, Walking Atlas, Tideforce Elemental, and Hedron Crab in play with 1 Land in hand..... Use Curio to bounce a land in your had everytime you play a land.... untap Tideforce.... tap tideforce... untap Atlas..... drop land.... Rinse and repeat
P.S. I Love your deck ideas and they inspire alot of mine... Thanx
I remember trying to put this deck together when worldwake had just come out. Only difference mine had was to splash white for ruin ghost as another target that tideforce elemental could hit. It just wasn't consistent enough for my liking.
Hmmm... that's pretty wicked. Its a shame that none of the creature are green... The biggest issue I see with the combo, is if you use Treasure Hunt and don't go off that turn, you will discard a lot of lands :/ I think if you went UB it would be more consistent... trade Cosi's Ravager for Scrib Nibblers... that would let you play Dark Tutelage for more card draw, and possibly a tutor... Or make it an Ooze combo deck? PS: I'm becoming an article writer, writing about deck building... I'm thinking "From the Depths: The cards you love, the decks you hate (to see on the other side of the table)" Thoughts?
It doesn't seem to be a good season for articles here, the forums have been kind of dead for the past few weeks. But, don't let that discourage you, I think you could find plenty of insightful things to write about! I was going to become an article writer a few months back, writing about the inane things in Magic (like this deck), but I just didn't (and don't) have the time for it /-: Best of luck!
****ADDENDUM**** I made this as a joke combo deck. This deck really isn't meant to be good, it's just funny.
Hey surewhynot, This is my type of deck! Silly stupid efficient combo. If you don't mind making it legacy legal by adding couple Crucible of Worlds, Mana Bond (perhaps), and Chalice of the Void (for some counter spell protection) I think you'll end up with a pretty good lands deck. Just the sort of deck that you've written you sort of hate to go against with your Extraction decks. Its sort of funny now you're making decks to compete against yourself.
lol this isn't anything like a Lands deck, trust me =P
This is hilarious! I never would have thought of it myself, and don't imagine it's consistent enough to be very feared, but I love it! Thanks for posting!
Haha nice combo. Never would have thought of this.
The look on your opponents face if it worked would be great!! two thumbs up. :)
I say you add green in there, throw in Grazing Gladeheart and Oracle of Mul Daya! Oh, and a living tsunami wouldn't be terrible either :3 Otherwise, I like it. Might not be the most amazing deck ever, but I'm sure it would be hillarious to play XD
i love what ur doing but if you change the tideforce elemental to a roil elemental every time a land comes into play you take one of your opponents creature so imagine 4 of them plus your atlas stealing up to 20 creatures a turn
Put in Selective Memory and watch your opponent's facial reaction with the combo.
Artifacts 3x Walking Atlas Creatures 3 x Hedron Crab 3 x Scrib Nibblers 3x Tideforce Elemental Land 30x Island 10x swamp Spells 4x Treasure Hunt 4x selective memory
http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=211467 Naya EDH.. Any suggestions?
Aphetto Alchemist, he will untap the walking atlas, making it so if you have Aphetto Alchemist, Walking Atlas and Tideforce Elemental out you can play all the lands in your hand, provided you have the blue mana to tap, which you will. I suggest taking out the red creature and the mountains, adding in the Aphetto Alchemist and replacing the mountains with islands, then just infinite mill people
dude there is an easier way... 4x treasure hunt 4x Zombie Infestation 20x swamps 20x islands 4x creeping tar pit 4x drowned catacombs 4x darkslick shores Mulligan until you get a treasure hunt, obviously you will get the lands you need and then simply play the infestation and discard all the extra lands in your hand for 2/2 creatures to beat the enemy senseless with :D Obvious flaws are any creature that allows the enemy to hurt/heal based on creatures, whiplash trap, any red deck worth a damm... etc, but the idea is funny.
