Deck Description

The pre-made Ghave EDH deck is actually pretty damn good already. I'm just gonna crank it up to 11 =P

How to Play

Much like my Rhys EDH, you make tokens en masse and push the aggro pressure with them. However, with this deck's general being Ghave, these tokens can be killed off, and built back up again to empower Ghave, and shift the deck's power around to what it needs at the moment. The saproling generators in this deck should be kept as a priority, because if they survive long enough, they get completely out of hand, and will easily hand you the victory.

To properly play the deck you will need to be ok with killing off your saprolings. With all the various "Spore Counter dudes", you have an enormous list of possibilies and options open to you. Deathspore allows you to use your creature surplus to wipe the opponents' board, or you can use Mycologist to gain large sums of life! Kill them off, make more...rinse and repeat =]

Deck discussion for Fungus in Nobis

awesome, love saproling decks. Where is rhys the redeemed? also a mycologist would be cool at EDH speeds. Tezz' gambit is great for fungus too.

you wanna see my new saproling?

Didn't see an Overrun. Might be a good idea with so many tokens. Some of the squirrel stuff might be good here too. Other than that I gotta say it looks real solid. I wanted to make my own, but haven't gotten around to it yet. I'd probably do something similar to yours if I did. Check out my EDH decks if you have some time. Comments welcome :)

Garruk serves as an Overrun, but on top of that, this thing dumps out so many tokens that I don't even really need something like that.

Love this color combo, using it in my Karador deck atm, but I have a friend who runs Ghave and your builds are similar, have you considered adding Parallel Lives? And I have to wonder if Strength of the Tajuru would be solid in here or not? Anyways awesome deck. If you get the chance, could you check out my Karador deck: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=242249

Hahaha, I need to go through my token decks and see how/if/where I can include Parallel Lives...I just was NOT expecting it (who would?!) =]

I'll try to get to your deck...I've written you down on my list...Been pretty busy, so my apologies if I don't get to it for a while. You're one of MANY decks I have written on my list =/

Haha that's fine man, your decks are usually incredible and as someone who enjoys the possible deck types that black and white grant, i must say i usually look to yours for ideas. Thanks again man, i'll look forward to your comments.

Me and my friends were talking about a deck like this, parralel lives intangible virtue, kessig cage breakers, splinterfrights mortivores, and LIVING WEAPONS, YOU GET 2 GERM TOKENS, TWO I SAY

I've been taking a look at this deck and it looks sweet. However, I would urge you to take a look at some Innistrad cards. Woodland Cemetery, Isolated chapel would be nice. And check out Gavony Township for +1/+1 counters on all your creatures. Also parallel lives is a must. I'm a little doubtful about Necropotence. Not a big fan of that one.

Necropotence is so powerful in EDH that I'm genuinely surprised it hasn't been banned. I've been slowly going through various decks and checking for possible changes I could make with the new Innistrad cards. Long process =/

Those are all great cards for this though =]

I gotta say, out of all of your EDH decks, this one is still my favorite. I just love Thallids cuz they have such a different way of killing people compared to most other strategies. I'm not sure why you put spawnwrithe in it though. It feels like whenever I use that card, it can never get through to hit unless u boost it somehow. I'd appreciate if you'd check out the first deck I've posted on mtgvault.

Spawnwrithe usually does need a little help to get started, but it can get absolutely out of hand FAST...

I know man, I love that card. Also this reminds me I have to go through the pain-staking task of checking every EDH deck of mine (and then every other deck -_-) to see if any of the new cards would be good in them.

Yeah, that would take awhile, as I have a feeling u have a lot of cards. I only run 2 commander decks so it isn't so bad? Cathars crusade would be awesome in this deck, as well as maybe bone splinters, a sacrificing a guy is not that big of a deal in this deck. Craterhoof behemoth?? That could be nice

Juniper order ranger is nice, never actually seen that card before. Does doran do much for u, other than being a big body?

0

Doran is actually pretty nice in here since a majority of the "asymmetrical" creatures are "bottom heavy", if that makes sense. Cathar's Crusade would indeed be absurd in...at least three of my EDH decks =P That card's a bit absurd.

With this deck already stuffed to the brim, I just don't have room for something like Bone Splinters. EDH banks on getting the most use out of each card since you only have 1 of anything. Bone Splinters will kill off one dude, and that's it...The sac won't matter, that's true, but still, I'd want something that can "recycle" better.

Craterhoof has crossed my mind, but there's two reason's I probably won't use it. 1) It's complete overkill in this deck. Yes, it's funny to kill someone with 100 tokens all with +100/+100, but it's not necessary. and 2) The thing rubs me the wrong way...It doesn't fit in the otherwise enormous flavor of the Innistrad block. It looks like a giant green turd that somehow makes all your creatures bigger? EDH needs to have some flavor to it in my opinion. Playing a bland EDH deck is possibly one of the worst experiences you can have.

As someone who mostly plays EDH games with my friends I gotta say I doubt either of my decks would fare well on a one-on-one battle. The sheer amount of tokens here is astounding! I have a Zombie EDH that has alot of token producers, but even it doesn't come close to this.

Also...why you hating on Craterhoof :D?

Wow, nice deck as always...Have you considered triumph of the hordes? +1/+1 trample and infect is awesome in this type of deck... Also as mentioned by Mini Garruk , why aren't you playing craterhoof behemoth?

0

I explained above why I dont like Craterhoof, but it comes down to it being overkill and unappealing to a guy who loves flavor as much as I do.

I could have sworn I squeezed Sorin in here...ffffuuuuuu that's gonna be a headache to fit in here =/

As for Martyr's Bond...it's certainly something I'll look into, but with all the other stuff I'm trying to cram in here (I swear this deck feels like 300 cards sometimes) it might not fit =/

Love the deck. My friend runs a similar one. Gravepact and Ghave has some really nasty synergy, Martyrs bond also comes to mind as a similar effect if you want to run it.

Yeah, I get what your saying with bone splinters. When your playing multiple opponents, 1 for one isn't great, especially since your getting a creature that probably doesn't matter very much, unlike in a duel. That makes a lot of sense tome, and I think I will take cards similar to bone splinter out of my EDH deck

An elsewhere knight errant and sorin, lord of Innistrad are nice because they can keep u going after a wrath. U might want to cut Garruk for one of them, unless u need the acceleration that much. As u said with Craterhoof, and overrun is kind of unnecessary. If he is good in the deck, I'd love to know why though

I see you have a Juniper Order Ranger, you should really look at putting in a Woodfall Primus it makes one fun combo with Ghave.

This deck looks pretty sweet. Maybe you could splah red and add Dragon Broodmother? She pumps out tokens that have flying and can take advantage of all others by devouring them.
