Deck Description

Another odd tribal I felt like making. This one is Constructs. I was pleasantly surprised to see just how good Constructs actually are.

Deck discussion for Constructive Criticism

This made me laugh like the foreign guy from work on family guy; ' Oh hooooo, is funny because it uses constructs! '

It's an interesting tribe, but whenever I see metalworker I think of stuffy doll decks.

Well Stuffy is a construct, so maybe in the future I'll put him in =P

I always misread his typing as 'douchebag', maybe that's just me...

This deck looks fun, if a little one-dimensional. I always tend to get a "ugh" feeling whenever a friend plays a Sol Ring, but that's just me. Also feels like you could use some card draw here.

Also, I've noticed you are quite active on this site and I'm looking for comments on a deck I'm struggling with. I've made 3 or 4 versions so far, but the latest version feels a bit off:

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=159004

The sideboard is cards I've considered at one point or another and don't want to forget about.

Card draw is something that I feel a great amount of players misunderstand. Card drawing is necessary if you need a transition from small threats (often associated with early game) to your larger threats (often associated with later game). But, if you have a deck designed to press down large threats right away, then card drawing is just redundant and can even force in mana burden.

Card drawing doesn't win games, card drawing with a purpose CAN win games. =]

Sure, a quick and agressive deck with constant pressure will win games. It's been a great strategy forever.

I was just suggesting card draw for fun mostly, so you don't stall out and have a little card advantage potential. I see mass removal being a weak point of the deck (but I suppose these types of decks tend to be weak there).

I tend to like decks/games with more variety, rather than ultra efficiency. Either beating people down super quickly or getting wiped is only fun for so long. I guess that makes me a Johnny to your Spike.

Hopefully you don't think I'm being overly negative, just saying people play magic for all types of reasons in all types of settings. I understand perfectly well while you wouldn't want the cantrip version of a spell always. Anyways, thanks for the comment I think I'm going to take your advice there and slot in 4 birds for a little land some of my other ramp.

I didn't mean for this to be so efficient to be honest. I just like to make weird tribals, and this one turned out a lot stronger than I thought it would =P

I actually do have some drawing in here with Runed Servitor, which is great to use with Soulgorger. All the same, I see your point and hope you see mine =] And don't worry, I don't see you as negative, just differently opinionated. =]

No problem, all good.

I think I passed over Runed Servitor when I was looking at the deck because it's each player draws. But the deck can probably make more use of it then the opponent. Personally I hate things like that for the few times your kicking yourself for helping you opponent more than you, but that's just me.

I'm having a good time a good time working the Birds into my GW deck, still toying with what to take out

Im not usually a big fan of artifact decks, but wow, this looks like a lot of fun. i took a long break in playing between roughly mercadian and the zendikar block, so seeing cards like door of destinies make me quite happy. big fan of tribal decks.

question for you tho, sure, none of my decks pop up on searching or anything else, i have to directly link them. do i have to have a minimum post limit before they will start showing up?

this was the first tribal based deck i made here, then went out and put it together, i have a vast love for elf decks that dont make you bored as crap to play.

Have you set them from "Work in Progress" to "Finished Deck"? You need to do that so they show up after you save them.

Hi same thing as above, can you please look at my deck?
Its standard legal infect, but I play vs people with vintage decks [their decks arent like "turn 1 i win with 20/20 flying haste" or anything but.. they're decent]

I know it sound redundant, but when I see Sol Ring more than once put in a deck, I always feel the need to say it is a restricted card. Sorry if it was already pointed out, I did not read all comments.

It wasn't pointed out, but I know it is. This deck is just for casual anyways, so it doesn't matter. In my shop there's two kinds of casual

"Casual" - Nice friendly matches with decks people made, good and relaxing fun

"Business Casual" - Probably more soul-crushing than some hardcore vintage tourneys.

What only 3 Sol Ring? If you're going to play multiple brokeness go all the way!!!

Play 4 Sol Rings.

But don't play more than 4 that would be silly ;-))

I think you should put in something with proliferate like contagion engine or clasp :P Would be an amazing addition to this deck to pump up your construct creatures every turn!

Nice deck, :) Yeah... Constructs are a lot better than everyone thinks. Shame that there's not a lot in standard right now.

Hey, I'm trying to build a black-green Elf deck that runs around Sorin and Nissa and is standard (and has an eldrazi sideboard) I was wondering if you could take a look at it. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=160183

Uhm...I dunno how many actually.

1) "defenders". Not really tribal, but close enough
2) Cows
3) Treefolk
4) Eldrazi -Spawn-
5) Wurms
6) Scarecrow
7) Constructs

Well not 10 but I'd say it's quite a list =P (Though, I still have a bunch of odd tribals that have hardly any comments/likes =/)

Nice to see someone else who thinks of making Tribal decks out of creature types that haven't been beaten down like Elves, Goblins, and Merfolk. I am still trying to make a decent Ogre deck or maybe a good pure black shade deck. Tho the strongest 2 tribals i have seen this current expansion is Knights and my fav. Myrs. The newer myr cards are making me wonder if we will see a Myr queen or king since myr are almost an artifact cousin of slivers.

Thanks man. I've got a friend at my shop who plays a very powerful Shade tribal...They might surprise you.

And as for Ogres...Yeah not too many to choose from, aside from Kazuul and some others =/

Sweet deck--I really feel like Contagion Engine/Clasp would fit well in here--with tons of mana at your disposal, the proliferating just doubles up your beef-ability. Maybe replace two of the Sol Rings with these, in case you ever wanna go play at raggedjoe's house, lol.
