Deck Description

While fatherhood has left my good friend DoTheWumpus unable to do much more than lurk on this site, every now and then he is still able to hang out and play some magic with me. After putting together my Gitrog Monster EDH, I was inspired to make a new, much different Filth deck. With Wumps' help, I think the final result is quite good.

The cards in the Sideboard were mostly cards we considered in place of Creakwood, but to be honest, we were both surprised by how often Creakwood came in handy. Vraska is there to swap out for The Gitrog Monster We also decided not to use lands like Bayou, Overgrown Tomb, or Verdant Catacombs. The deck runs perfectly fine without them, and this way it stays within a decent price for a remarkably strong deck.

Oh yeah, and the deck is named after yet another awesome Ween song =]

How to Play

Do not be afraid to play a little backwards. One of the best cards in the deck is Thought Gorger, which leaves you with an empty hand. Don't be reckless, of course, but understand that this deck can do very cool things with an empty hand and a stocked graveyard.

Deck discussion for Cold blows the wind

Because it's banned in Modern, what would you replace Deathrite Shaman with to make this Modern legal. I'm aware that the Shaman is very important, but I kinda like this and am considering getting what I'm missing, but I can only play this in Modern.

I would play maybe Bloodsoaked or Groundskeeper depending on where you want to go with things, but I think Bloodsoaked is better overall. Tenacious Dead is also a reasonable choice as is Slitherhead. Tragic Slip is also a very good utility one-drop.

Now if you want to forgo the one drop slot, which this deck already kind of does, then you have TONS of options...The best of which might be Mulch.
