Deck Description

With this deck I worked on a strange type of Stompy called Metal-Stomp. It involves a Stompy that is heavily based on artifacts/artifact creatures. It works surprisingly well, and makes me happy that I now have a use for those Ezuri's Brigade(s) I've been holding on to. =]

Deck discussion for Artificial Dominance

Dear Mr. whynot, artifact/green decks have a special place in my heart. Well, done sir :-)
I'm new at this whole MTG thing, so my suggestions may be terrible... That being said, I know you're trying to make this Stompy-esque, but while Vastwood is nice for green creatures, the other half of your creatures are gonna be pump-less. Maybe something like Energy Chamber or Power Conduit to facilitate that?

I'd appreciate a look-see at my artifact/green deck and any feedback you can give. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=127770

Wow. You know something man. New as you may be, you made me notice for the first time that the Vastwood only works on green creatures that enter...Thanks =]

I'll be sure to take a look at your deck.

Why not drop Llanowar Reborn in there instead?

I'm not a big fan of Llanowar Reborn to be honest. I have seen it used to...decent effect in a graft deck, but never more that that. It's not really worth the speed loss it gives. Oran is totally worth it even though it comes in tapped...just a shame it doesn't work for this deck. =/

Hmmmm...Been told by some people that, while Artifact-Stomp isn't a sub-type, if it's mono-green and has Stompy-like cards, then it is by definition...Stompy.

This is pretty epic, but have you considered running ye olden Mycosynth Golem over Wurmcoil? He speeds metal-stomp up like a dark ritual to black aggro.

I did think about him, but ran into a catch-22 whenever I tried him out. To get out enough artifacts to play him with ease, I essentially make his affinity-granting a moot point. Sure, when he finally comes out pretty much everything's free...but when he finally comes out, I don't need it =/

I wish he cost less, because he would be a great speed boost.

Oh, and yeah...I love Metal-Stomp. I can see the risks of using it, since there's an ass-load of artifact hate cards, but the risk is well worth the rewards I think. Soulgorger?! That thing on turn 2 will give someone a heart attack!

I still have a few more Stompy sub-types to tackle, but probably won't for a while. One reason being that I need a break from Stompy making and the other being that the others to make include "Horde-Stomp" (No idea how to do this yet), and the 14 and 10-land Stomps. -_-

I guess he's more iron-fish than stompy, the guy who runs the shop I usually play at runs him, and his deck just straight DESTROYS everybody. I'm the only one in our group who can control him more than two turns, and that's only because I'm the only one running grave pacts...

Yeah, it really is more for iron-fish. I've never liked iron-fish though, it's a really...boring concept =/

Very nice, I would reccomend Steel Overseer on general principle, but its not nessissary. I would drop 3 forests, 1 Tree, and the Citidels for 3 islands and 3 Seats. This gives you a huge range of useful cards, from Master of Eurethium, to Tezz, to Stoic Rebutal, to Turn Aside (Since artifact hate kinda eats your ass).

No way in hell this is your last one. Again.

PS: This is this second time I have posted the above line on a deck of yours. Just saying.

If he splashes it won't be stompy, or even metal-stompy. It would be some bizzare deviation of Simic.

Exactly...Multi-color =/= Stompy. And I have no frickin' clue what you'd call it either haha.

Oh, and SERIOUSLY, I know you've posted that same message many a time before...but with the easiest sub-type in my list of ones to still do being frickin' Horde-Stomp...Nah, not making one for a good while...

(Honestly, I have no clue how to do a Horde-Stomp...maybe you could try it out? =P)

Addendum: I will make one more Stompy deck in the near(ish) future if Mirrodin Besieged offers enough cards for me to create an Infect-Stomp. Otherwise I will not.

No, as in a mass-token deck made Stompy. Not easy to make.

And yeah, Soulgorger is insane.

First off *Highfives* for Infiltration Lens!! I lol'd when I saw another person uses them, then I noticed that you only boast 18 land and was wondering if you'd care to share why. I usually never get land flooded and carry around 22 in most decks. And since you're running original Mirrodin cards and clearly want draw and ramp, why not use (explore to cover both those) or sword of fire and ice. And I think your Brigade guys are pretty spiffy but I (as a red player) suggest adding the cheaper version as well to get into the early game and they aren't bad in the meta either (Carapace Forger-SOM).

BTW, I took the red approach to artifacts, please comment if you wish. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=131423

Alright made the change. Again, thanks for pointing it out. It has always been in the "real world" deck, and it turns an Etched Champion into a complete nightmare. =]

(And yeah, it's frickin' unfair when used with Overwhelming Stampede. +42/+42 and Trample anyone? XD)

I always find one or two harmonize are always good as i always !!! seem to run out of cards in my have and with elves can always afford to play them - not sure what you think ???

0

Harmonize is an ok card, but it isn't efficient enough for Stompy, and it isn't at all "consequential" like Infiltration Lens is.

I wish so much that I could magically fit in some Primal Bellows or Might of the Masses...They'd be so sweet with Precursor...damn.
