My latest deck idea to be brought to life. I pulled Kaalia from the Double Masters VIP box and decided to make a new Kaalia deck revolving around tutor cards and paying life, then regaining it to grab the creatures you want to get out from your deck and cheat them onto the field with Kaalia. As a secondary wincon, we have Exquisite Blood paired with either Vizkopa Guildmage or Vito to pull off an infinite combo. The original deck had Imperial Seal in it until I realized that it's $1000, and I actually want to build this thing, so I want to not be broke afterward. Tell me what you think.
Lots of the cards in this deck make you pay life to do very powerful things. To combat this immense loss of life, there are creatures with lifelink and ones that gain you life, as well as a few noncreature lifegain spells to refuel your resources. Just for the hell of it, and the fact that it can end games quickly with the amount of tutor cards in the deck, there is an infinite combo with Exquisite Blood and Vizkopa Guildmage/Vito that can win you games by turn 4. In addition, Bolas's Citadel paired with Sensei's Divining Top and Aetherflux Reservoir can let you draw your whole deck in a turn and gain all the life you want and dunk on your foes with the Reservoir. While you set up these scary combos in your hand and on your field, you have Kaalia to protect your boardstate with large demons and angels, particularly Sephara and Avacyn, Angel of Hope for indestructible walls and huge attackers. An ideal turn 1 would consist of a Swamp into a Dark Ritual into a Necropotence into a Spellbook off the top to drop a Mana Crypt into an Ivory Tower and a Sol Ring to hit big and gain big next turn.
