Deck Description

Building off of Alfred and Wickeddakman, I have decided to go with my own half deck build based on burn. I honestly don't know if this is the best separation between regular half deck and the other half, but I tried. The second half incorporates white in the color scheme, allowing for some interesting options there, like Seeker of the Way and Lightning Helix. Thought it might be decent, what does everyone think?

How to Play

It's just burn, but divided into two kind of partial decks. I see some serious potential for a new format here, how about you guys?

Deck discussion for Half Deck Burn/Prowess

I really want the format to come about, and you are helping that with your great deck, but I would think that it would be more fun, if your decks had 2 separate ideas, so you don’t play the same idea multiple times

Originally I designed the idea based on the fact that players sort of already played halfdecks
(burn+discard, burn+weenie, discard+weenie)

Then I wanted to do it competitively, because in the past magic has seen lots of fascinating hybrids, so I would seek out competitive decks and find ways to split them in two.

In the end it turned out to be much more fun to have a huge number of halfdecks stored for gamenights where we would pick halves in turn. It became quite a challenge for me to design halves that fit together in more and more ways.

Your designs look fine, but like alfred says when coupled with future designs you might want to try to split it into pure burn and pure aggro. If coupled with a halfdeck with discard you will find that you either need more creatures or need more burn. By splitting them into their themes you will be able to have stronger halves of what they do.

I have a post somewhere covering the background.

Oh, wow, that's actually kind of brilliant. I didn't get that when I saw your guys' decks, I think I might try to make a new one with this knowledge. Thanks!

You can do this in a thousand ways :)
Like I just said to alfred, you want each half to be lethal on their own.
A half that only discards plus a deck that only draws wont win when put together so plan ahead.

I didn’t say not draw, I just said mainly draw

It was an example.
No need to be jumpy

For most people no need to be jumpy, for you who has swore revenge(or something of the sort) on at least 2 separate occasions yes

I've forgotten the first occasion :)
Half revenge awaits muhua......
(Half of an evil laugh is not impressive)

If it’s half of an amazing evil laugh it’s still decent

The rest was sort of like Haaahaahaaaaa!
And evil laughs must never be decent.
They must be indecent.
Evil laughs should be like wandering around a corner and see something you think should be covered for decency, and then you figure out the cover will still reveal obscene movement, so you get the mods to put up a black censored sign, but you can still hear it. You still hear the laughter.

That's what I think an evil laughter should be like :)
We all have our own images of what evil is.

My friend wassup also this deck idea is sick. Smaller decks, more cheap and same fun. Combos lowkey broken.

Yeah it's sick enough.
If your friends don't mind proxies you could print out a bunch to have a play night.

So, how does your friends think of halfdecks ? Have you tried home tournaments yet ?

I've never done a home tournament, mainly because I don't have enough friends who play Magic at a semi-high level, but I think that that could be fun once all this madness is over.

Yeah, one thing is to protect 2% of the population, another is to stress the economy of 80% of the population.
I guess more people will die from economical reasons than the disease will kill. But it is nice to see the world more United than ever, even if it's at something so stupid as this...
