Deck Description

WHOO Color Matters, deck. This is a deck I built about 6 months? ago?... And yeah I just took it out again, did some editing and well, here it is! I hope you enjoy!

Basically your biggest creature is going to be the Transguild Courier, when equiped to Civic Saber, or enchanted with Blessing of the Nephilim, it becomes... rather humongous. Spirit of Resistance is just troll when you have Courier out. Knight of Alara is like the Lord of this deck...

For modern players, switch out Spirit of Resistance with Reborn Hope... and well... have fun!

For people who are willing to spend a bit more money: Bloom Tender... lol

Please give me more suggestions on cards!

The deck should be kept under $10 in the red box.

Deck discussion for [Budget] Color Power

Nice concept- keeping the cards to two colors was also a nice idea. Reborn Hope wouldn't be a bad addition here. You're very close to modern legal, but Spirit of Resistance (in casual play) makes it worth it to be legacy/vintage.

Love Reborn Hope! I'll put it in the sideboard for people who want to play modern. Thanks! :D

This is f*ing ridiculous haha. I might have to try this out but I've already got 3 orders of cards on the way hahaha.

Might I suggest Sword of the Godhead ?

Yes, sorry .. Sometimes I forget the exact names and am too lazy to look it up before I comment. :p

Mind taking a look at my decks ? :)

Steel of the godhead might work... I'll add it to the sideboard. Thanks for the suggestion!

Hey I'm also looking for some advice for my deck, its experimental but it works wonders in larger games, by no means is it a quick deck but it grows quickly.

Would love to see Unflinching Courage or Armadillo Cloak on this deck. But I really think it wouldn't be better than any enchantment that it already have =(.

yeah... It would be good... but Shield of the Oversoul is better in this case...

Maybe Rancor instead of saber? I really think a trample would be required =(.

my problem was i never cared, now that mtg is fun, i only run into highly competitive cheaters, no fun since it became serious for me.

I really love this deck. I would suggest looking at glittering wish for searching capabilities though it isn't exactly cheap.

I really liked this setup that I made my own spin-off deck, and would love your feedback:

Awesome deck. Marisi's Twinclaws could be interesting. Double strike is always fun.

tutoring would be nice, eladamri's call would work perfect with your colors. sadly it blasts the budget.

what about Congregation at Dawn?

eladamris call is more like an early game, i get what i really need. congregation at dawn strikes me more like, okay i got everything set up, now let the big guys come and handle it card. it would sure work but it doesnt look like the card this deck needs. the only two creatures you really need are knight of new alara and either scrapbasket/transguild courier.

The problem with Eladarmri's Call is the fact that it ruins the budget :( I wish I could use it...

The deck is really 4 drop heavy, which messes with your mana curve. I'd reduce the number of Scrapbasket by 2 and your land count by 2, then try to fit 4 of something (maybe Qasali Pridemage/Dryad Militant?) in :)

Another great deck suitangi! I also have to say trample would be good as well as a draw card. Wildsize?

Thank you for the kind words! :O
Wildsize would be a nice addition, but what would I add in for it?

0

I would try taking out 2 Scrapbaskets and 2 Shield of the Oversouls and putting in 4 Wildsizes. If you were playing against a token deck, it wouldn't matter how big your creatures get, they'll just be blocked.

Okay, I ended up taking out one of each and putting in 2 Wildsizes, I'll test it out.
Thanks!:D

i would recomend that since you have about $3.50 space in this deck, you could get rid of those wild sizes and put in two racors instead? (:

Good call on the scrapbasket!

Yeah it's quite a fun deck to play, and it sometimes throws your opponent off guard, not thinking that color could matter that much.
Scrapbasket is not as good as Transguild Courier, but still very good.

From what I see, Naya Hushblade is really problematic if you're trying to buff it up, because of shroud. The only way you could get anything to land on it successfully would be to have it be the only creature you have so far. Yeah, landing a civic saber and a blessing on it would make it mad powerful, but unless playtesting proves otherwise, that shroud will hurt you more than help you.

My personal opinion: I'd sideboard Shield of the Oversoul for Steel of the Godhead and replace the Hushblade with Esper Stormblade. Lifelink and unblockable are pretty tasty. Blue also opens up Aura Finesse If you want to flip flop your auras over and make some nasty combos.

I made one a while back in case you are interested, but my sack of beans wasn't as budget as yours. http://www.mtgvault.com/cjreedemption/decks/godshards/

Best of luck to you! Have fun :)

Another gem in the budget aisle. One creature popped into my head when I saw the Saber, 'Spellbreaker Behemoth' goes for 0.49$ on SGS - It is a cheap road to take instead of the pricey 'Cavern of Souls', but then again... I don´t know what you´re up against, so I might be way off.

Spellbreaker Behemoth isn't in the right colors though :(
However, thanks for the kind words and the suggestion!
