I'm trying to make the best reanimator deck possible.Sideboard is a maybeboard.I'm trying to keep it mono black in case I ever need to hard cast one of the big heavies. Any good reanimator strategies or combos I'm missing please let me know.
The idea is nothing stays in your graveyard long. I run a variation of this deck right now and I'm tweaking it, one thing I'm tinkering around with is the land setup, not sure if it will work or not. Lake of the Dead looks tempting for mana accel, but it eats up swamps. That's why I threw in Crucible of Worlds. It's a reanimator deck so why not reanimate land too. I've never tried bottomless vault but it might be a nice mana store house. If a play set of each is too much I might need to thin them out. I've run Phyrexian Tower but since it's legendary I only use one and as such it hasn't got much play. The deck relies on sacrificing critters for mana accel as well. Bloodghast and Nether Traitor have nice reanimator properties themselves, so sacrificing them dosen't mean saying goodbye to them forever. Use Culling the Weak and Phyrexian Tower to cast bigger spells as early as you can. They can also be useful if you need to hard cast one of the heavies.Buried Alive is vital to this deck. It lets you search for three creatures and toss them in your graveyard. The best creature (in my opinion) to get into the graveyard (and then back out again) is Sheoldred. With her in play she starts thinning your opponent's ranks and filling out yours, bring more big creatures out of your graveyard for free. Bring her out with Dread Return, then once it's in the graveyard you can sacrifice creatures (if you want or need to) to cast it again. Again though, with Sheoldred and the reanimation properties of the smaller creatures nothing will stay dead for long. Some thoughts: Lim-Dul and Grave Betrayal for getting your opponent's creatures form their grave yard onto your side.Lord of the Void is a good finisher and good at getting opponent's cards into the graveyard for you to reanimate. Hero's Downfall and Slaughter Pact for creature kill control. Dash hopes for counter / control. One thing this deck might have to watch out for is exile decks and graveyard hate. You can't plan for everything but Dash Hopes helps negate some of control decks power. Diabolic Tutor to search for cards. If you have any suggestions please leave me a comment.
