The whole reason I was looking into mill again lol!
And now we have even more mill tech from Hour of Devastation:Ipnu RivuletLand - Desert {T}: Add {C} to your mana pool.{T}, Pay 1 life: Add {U} to your mana pool.{1}{U}, {T} Sacrifice a Desert: Target player puts the top four cards of his or her library into his or her graveyard.Probably not good as a set, but one or two could supply that last push. Good points is it enters untapped and can sacrifice itself to itself.
STREETNINJA:I've tested it a lot recently, and with the right cardmix it performs better than mind funeral.I've never seen it go below 6 and I've seen it mill as high as 32 (lethal) but ordinarily it hits 14+DEDWARDS:Actually a pretty usefull mill-land, though mostly at the lategame. Since I've had a maximum of two sheldock isle in past decks I think this migh go as high as 3 in my own deck.
But unfortunately still makes mill a tier 3 deck. Which I personally don't mind, Just wish mill was a more competitive play.
I've believed mill has been competitive enough to win for years, but those winning top Places never seem to deviate from the "classical" way of doing it.First off all, emrakul is gone.Several decks almost automatically fold to mesmeric orb (those that tap and untap lot's of times),a couple of shadowdesigns mill themselves a bit with flayer.Fraying sanity will activate a lot when facing death's shadow (mishra's bauble, street wraith, traverse the ulvenwald, grim flayer), it will devastate dredge, have every burnspell mill a Card (and burn plays soo many fetches) It makes mill very competitive.I suspect that "hour of devastation" was build with the added concept of turning modern upside Down once more, since a lot of Cards seem to devastate very specific decks, and most of these Cards have a wide array of decks they annoy. I'm afraid wotc finally got the resourcess to make new editions into buying freenzies to win the weaponrun...
