Deck Description

Decided to make a deck that would make the trees from The Wizard of Oz & Lord of the Rings jealous. I see 'em sittin' there, thinkin' they're all high & mighty because they have faces & can dialogue with passers-by.

Well the day of self-inflicted, loving racist affection starts today! It's not no double-negative that ain't what it might not be if it was!

Leaf-Crowned Elder & Deathrender helps pull creeps w/ the mana curve. A couple other things in there, like lifegain & indestrucitble treefolk/lands to keep ya' healthy among other things. But the sideboard is for 2'nd match token utilization.

Deck discussion for Roots Asunder

I really like the theme to this deck. It also seems to have a good number of boomers with alternate ways to get them into the battlefield without paying for the high costs, or acquiring the mana to do so quickly and easily while boosting the little guys to effectively turn them into boomers. One drawback is that there aren't a lot of defensive spells, but I'm a bit of a noob and always build decks with some kind of defensive instants/sorcery. Good work! Theme-Deck Success. =D

treefolk are really powerful...I might substitute the cards that deal with flying critters for some more useful spells or more treefolk though, unless you play against a lot of flying decks. You'll want some more Bosk Banneret for sure--that way you can get out the treefolk faster and win!

Yeah, I had a few more picked out originally before I tweaked it down to size, but I had a few Black mana trees & 1 or 2 White ones. I might rework it some day w/ the Blacks in there again, like Black Poplar Shaman for regenerate target treefolk, etc. Thanks for the info, I'll look into it.

Amazing deck! I can't really think of much on how to improve it except with maybe vines of vastwood purely because it gives a creature pseudo shroud at instant speed for 1 green mana and if you kick it for another green mana the creature also gets +4/+4 good against removal especially if you plan on attacking with it.
9.9/10

I don't understand the Doubling Season in the sideboard. Isn't Reach of Branches the only token generator? Good deck though.

The cards that utilize the tokens are: Deadwood Treefolk, Guardian of Cloverdell, Reach of Branches & Dauntless Dourbark. Since reach of branches makes Treefolk, it ramps up Dauntless Dourbark & :Deadwood is a vanishing counter/timer. So you double or quadruple how long he stays out.

And I'll check out your treefolk!

http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=70659 I first was going to make a tree folk deck but realized it had some weaknesses and most you got over. My deck here is a green shaman deck that is 1/2 treefolk give it a look. The big problem I see that is just inherit with green little anti creature. Lignify is great. I suggust steely resolve. It works for me. Green 2 cost enchantment. Choose creature type to shroud then they wont be zaping your timber protecters. It seams like you have way more land grab stuff than you need. Some shamans would work well with leaf crowned like oracle of mul daya for extra lands or elvish piper to tap play creatures. Ive seen other tree folk decks use the oracle extreamly well as a great every turn way to pull lands out of the way for leaf crowned elder and just get more mana faster. I put red in mine for direct damage. Try oren reif to buff all. I give it a 8/10
