Deck Description

Back when I first started Magic over 10+ years ago, I first built a Green deck. This has evolved over the years & several adaptations & implementations have been made to it. This is the current love-child of alot of years of play & continues to evolve, just like nature.

Very powerful & extremely fun to stomp someone with! This is a well balanced power & speed deck. Streams thrown in amidst the high-end creatures makes it hard to stop. Had to throw in the Beastmaster Ascension to add insult to injury. The Sideboard helps to combat 2nd match Shadow, Flying, Equipment & Planeswalkers.

Let me know what you guys think of this one, this is a piece of pride in this deck, but would like to know what you guys would do differently or change to make it stronger!

Deck discussion for Primal Rage

LOLOLOLOL Scute Mob+ Gigantiform=GG @.@

wow man, that is a beastly combo. Bountiful Harvest and Stream of life added to that makes this look like one formidable deck for sure. I'm a big fan of mono colored decks ( I have four or five myself) and I really, really like this one.

Thanks again Cid! I'll have to check out your other decks, I like the 2 you posted today; nice work so far bud. Cya' round!

Oh btw CidCon, Gigantiform needs to be looked at closely. It doesn't add +8/+8, it says creatres "are" 8/8. Meaning if it's a 1/1 creature, it's now 8/8, if you put it on something higher than 8/8, it takes it back down to 8/8. So you could potentially use it to "de-buff" someone elses giant creatures.

Quite different from the old stompy decks I'm used to. I like the deck though, as I see the theme of stompy hasn't changed. I'm surprised that Rancor hasn't been included though. Has it not been reprinted since Urza's Saga? I really believe that you should take a look and think about adding in 2-4 Rancor. My onlu other critque would be that the Zendikar Farguide and Marshdrinker Giant seem a little more expensive (mana cost wise) than they are worth. I really don't have any suggestions on what may be a better creature nowadays, but it was just my first thought when looking at them.

Regardless, this looks like a great deck. Happy hunting!

Thanks boss I appreciate the comments. The reason I have a couple high-hitters in mana cost is to try & help combat counters where they have to pay the converted mana cost of thecard to counter it, that was pretty much the only thought-train behind that one. But this Rancor card looks very tasty. When I get some more time later today, I might toy around w/ it & add. Thanks again!

I'm surprised the actual green card "Primal Rage" isn't in the deck...

No problem, it's such a great enchanment for only 2 mana.

Alright Drummer, I took out Gigantiform, upped my land & took out Farguide & Marshdrinker while throwin' in Primal Rage. It balances out trample, I can still global enchant creatures w/ Beastmaster & now I have 4 Scythe Tigers for fast damage & extra land so I can take the hit of secrificing 'em. What'chya' think? I'm very happy w/ this now.

Looks much more solid, I'd add some khalni garden just to produce free creatures, who cares if they die attacking, it adds counters to BMA, and if you are rockin that many forest, why not drop a few primal bellow's in there. They are better than giant growth in the late game. For your side board drop two mold shamblers and add two acidic slime, similar, but one's a bit cheaper and the shambler really is only needed for planeswalkers. Sorry to be nit-picky, but it's still a solid deck man.

Yeah, I just looked up Acidic Slime on MTGFanatic.com & I'm gonna' have to pass. Although I do see alot of use in another mono-color Green deck I'm thinkin' of making. But I need the Shambler's for Planeswalkers w/ this one. I used to have some Primal Bellows, but I'm tryin' to keep this @ a sTr8 60 cards, which for me is a hard thing; Mad-Scientist Syndrome, lol. I guess we're never truly happy, because there is no perfect anything in this world. ;P Thanks again boss, I might think about Bellow again. I'll probably tweak this & see what you think here in a little bit.

Drumhead, I just straight added 2 land & 2 Primal Bellows & changed Oran-Rief Recluse to 2, then buffed Timbermaw Larva to 4x. It's done now. 64 cards total. I think this is to be unchanged @ this point.

What'chya' think?

Scratch 4 forest for Khalni Garden and i won't have anything else to say. Nice dude, nice

Done. I see that as a land that pops another creature to be buffed, but also as a speed bump. But I think I like the Khalni, speed be damned. Good idea, thanks bro.

Speed bump? Pft, it's a free creature to do whatever with. Or you can say it cost one mana, but whatever it's a balanced land/creature combo fo sho.

Leatherback Baloth?

There was a time that I had the Baloth's as you can rem ember Cid, but I'm still content with how this turned out currently. Granted it's 3 mana for 4/5, which is unheard of, but everything here helps w/ the balance of speed/power. I realize some of these are high CC, but with the buffs they cover that gap that Leatherback would give me & have more potential w/ Spike Colony to x-fer +1/+1 counters & the global enchantments.

I might throw him in, in another Red/Green deck I have. But thanks for the reminder!

Excellent deck, I love the whole "overrun" concept and this deck brought me back to the old days where I pwned my brother who used Blue/White and used Green/Red, great job boss. 10/10

I like it! It's probly just me, but the only thing im not really feeling is the scythe tigers. They are a good fast turn one for sure but they set back your turn 2. Maybe birds of paradise to replace him, but again thats only because i just dont like the idea of sacing a land unless its for Terastodon lol. great deck 9/10 fo sho!

Yeah, sorry boss. They're a personal favorite of mine. That's why I added 24 lands so I could afford to sac. the land. I've combat tested them a ton & Scythe Tigers are so unfair. 1 mana w/ Shroud @ 3/2. That power is almost immeasurable in this game if you start w/ 2x In your hand. Never been a big fan of Birds personally, or Llanowar Elves. I realize the use for them, but this deck... I dunno' man, they just don't fit the theme to me as 3'rd Reich as that sounds, lol.

I might consider it, thanks for the feedback boss! I might tweak it out w/ 'em, who knows. ;P

I love this deck! I don't think there is much you can change... If you wanted more cards there is glimpse of nature, and mana reflection to play them but you don't really need it. Well done.
