If you don't mind making this thing out of standard, I have some cards you could try to find. Kalitas, Bloodchief of Ghet (to go along with Malakir Bloodwitch), Baron Sengir, or Mephidross Vampire. Grappling Hook would also be a good choice for your lifelink critters.
I never thought about Grappling hook
