First decks are always the hardest. This one is not so good. Blood Artist is a great card. Vexing Devil is also a great card but wont have the effect you are looking for as they almost always never make it onto the battlefield. Cacklers are good. Now for the harsh reality...Army of the Damned... not viable in current Standard format. Blaspheous Act is a good control card if you are playing a certain type of control deck which you are not here. Rakdos Charm is good with certain matchups but not all. I would say pick a specific mechanic and then go to it. If you like the Blood Artist try BG zombies with Jarad. Plus some of the vampires have a good sacrafice mechanic for the effect trigger of blood artist. Hope this helps

Well... I don't really have a good explanation except that I wanted to try something different. The Champion is really really good.

I'll check in again from time to time to see what changes you have made, but my initial judgement is this deck need some work. I agree with a friend I have been playtesting with for the past six monthes... Any three color deck needs the all the dual colored land you can get. In your case x2 of each shock land combo. Combined with x3 or x4 of the M13/Inn dual lands, as well as the guild gates. When drawing sample hands alone on here I find alot of holes in the mana required. Try to sub in some of those land combinations and I see you having a pretty balanced deck, although I have not play tested this specific line up.

I have to say... Bravo sir. The creativity in creating this deck in itself deserves recognition. Bless you for avoiding the cookie cutter builds and using original cards and combinations. I do admit a signal counter spell pretty much ends the combo due to the enormous amount of things that have to go right to pull it off, but even still your use of Battle Hymn alone gave me chills to imagine how simply amazing the potential for the card can be. What you have clearly created is a deck you made, were proud of, and shared it with all of us. Maybe you can bump one of these damn Selesnya decks off the front page because I am certainly tired of the same ole sh it being copied and reposted.

That might be a good one. Honestly I had no idea it would be so budget until I built it and saw the deck price! Lol. I told my friend "how can you go wrong with a playable themed deck for under 20 $? He said "I don't think you can."

Good deck. Too slow for modern I think. Turn four or five its pretty much over and ramp relies on too many conditions to win. But a fun casual deck I think. Great job.

Side board ideas... Rancor. BonFire Giant Growth.

Ash Zealot should be a sideboard. Put Stormkirk Noble or Markov Blademaster in the main deck to replace it.

Good deck idea though so its getting a like from me. Keep building. Fell free to check out my deck ideas.

I definitely agree with you that the win conditions are slim. I thought about filibuster counters and all the like. I really like the Grove of the Guardian idea. I think Ajani really has the only legitimate win condition here. Probably not enough in tournaments but I still may try. I also like Serra's Avatar. She is pricey to cast, but with this much life gain I should get to the mana I need. This deck still does have weaknesses to things like mill.

Who knows? Maybe I will give it a try in a local tourney for funnsies.

Here is what I say. You need more evasion to make this happen. The Gravecrawlers are a staple in every zombie deck. But particularly with Blue you should use some evasion. Also think Highborn Ghoul (a 2/1 with intimidate), and one of the best mill cards in the game in Increasing Confusion. Most people hate this deck idea because it bucks the common trend, so for that I am proud of your deck.

Give it a try. Another really good card I used with it at a point was Reforge the Soul. Consider that into the sideboard if you like in substitute for the Faithless Looting.

Thanks I like the Pillar of Flame add in. I will update it. Probably will take out a couple of the copy spells. I didn't find my self using them as much as I thought I would.

I have seen some variations to this idea. One in particular has a deck tech from the pro tour and also using an enchantment from Return to Ravnica called Shrieking Affliction. I recommend taking a look at that card and play testing it. I agree with a lot of the other posters here. Get Rakdos's Return. Also Shimiam Specter. Those three cards may really round out this deck very well. Have fun testing. I hope I helped you out.

I play tested a similar deck about two weeks ago and in the current state of the game this deck appears to run much slower than a lot of the fast damage decks out there. Also a lot of people side board for aggro and mill two things that this deck builds its archetype from. In today's standard you need to pick one thing you want to do really well and most importantly be consistent. This would be a fun deck to play with friends though. Good deck sir.

I don't understand what the deal is with Tormented Soul. I think the reason this deck never gets off the deck is because no one can get creative.

Check out my exalted deck. Ish is Cra. Gonna test it on Fri. Only thing I have left to get is investing in Sublime Archangels. I understand they are not cheap but my deck idea currently is still cheap and atleast I came up with something original.
