It's just to get an extra card but I sided it out to start. It comes in with mind grind now.

Finally a deck utilizing Vraska. Vraska and Chandra, the Firebrand get too little love. Nice deck, definitely liked it.
Awesome feedback. Took some of my thoughts and worded them better. Benny brings up awesome points.
Yep, the only counters that see much tournament play then are negate, syncopate, cancel, dissipate and dispel, and most are sideboarded or not prepared to counter a shield. Good thinking with the shield.
Enjoy the deck. Should beat anything that isn't removal heavy!
Get into the elimination rounds of a tournament and you should be fine. Control is losing a lot right now, so you'll have a better shot in the eliminations after Swiss. Its' your deck, if you like it play it, just need to come out rolling in swiss rounds.
Also I think my deck is worse than it is. People tell me my standard Grixis is good, but I can't believe it because I built it. I suppose with all my removal I could beat it. But still, I'm giving credit instead of trying to talk mine up.
Would hate to play this with my current standard deck. Sure, there are ways to beat this deck, but tell me how to easily do it and I'll give you a cookie. Great deck, nice work, and good luck playing!
Short, sweet, and to the point, nice deck.
Nice deck, only question, why no more than one abrupt decay mainboard?
Added Devour Flesh, over essence scatter and a fourth thought scour. More reliable answer to Reckoner than essence scatter.
Agree. Stromkirk Noble would be awesome in here. Rakdos's Return sideboard at least.
Not a bad deck. Some cards are unnecessary, especially in the sideboard, but its clear that this is still in development. Good shell. Only suggestion I'd made is to the basic lands. I'd run 6 island, 2 mountain, 2 swamp just because half of your deck requires blue mana. Ultimate Price would be a good sideboard card here, as well as Syncopate.
Good ideas, but put a few lands in. Seems like it could be actually competitive then, nice job. Few budgets ever have promise like this!
Sorry for the bother, but I asked you a question on my deck that you commented on, if you get the time I'd appreciate the answer as I'm really considering you're suggestion, would just like more information as to why.
Haha yeah. Go Philly! The Seer is great to build around for standard just keep a low mana curve. Like I said there is some good cheap stuff from M13 and the Innistrad block that can really help a deck. Dimir is highly underrated, and though I am a member of Orzhov on magics site, I love to play it. And yes, Cloudfin + Cipher is good. By turn five your cloudfin can be a 4/5. Which is great because even if it's blocked, the Cipher mechanic kicks in, and not much can beat a 5 toughness creature! Also, by then they'll have to deal with your seer leaving the raptor cipher combo open. In limited I run Cloudfin + Cipher, and its great.
Okay. First off, mill winning in this format will be near impossible. You really will have to play a more aggressive style. For limited, I've played Dimir two weeks in a row and won my pod the first week, and seconded to a boros deck with two reckoners the next. My favorite card to mix into Dimir is the Cloudfin Raptor from simic. It's an awesome one-drop and it basically grows like your discard power creatures, but grows quicker and more effectively. I'd run a playset, maybe three. Take out the Balustrade spy, and add two more Duskmantle Seers to finish your four costs to keep the curve balanced. Its by far the best Dimir card if you keep a relatively low curve and my favorite card in the set. Death's approach at enchantment speed is near useless. Since you have some beefy creatures I'd run some spell ruptures, or negates from M13. Mind Grind is awesome, I'd run three. As for lands, go back to M13 and grab four drowned catacombs, they are 4 bucks each now. Run 2 guildgates then 9 islands and 9 swamps. Maybe even 8 islands, 8 swamps and toss in two evolving wilds if you want to almost guarantee you get the mana you need. Grisly spectacle seems really costly, especially if you top deck it with a Duskmantle Seer in play. I'd take them out, run 3 aetherize. I'd take out the three hands of binding and make sure you obtain a playset of negates, spell ruptures and essence scatters. Just so you have cheaper more reliable removals. Other than that I think the deck looks great, just needs a few twinks here and there. All Dimir decks should be more aggressive to survive, because they can get bigger than gruul, slow down boros, and "outhink" orzhov.
I'd take out the guildmages. Your deck seems like it needs all the mana it can get, and his effect is too minimal to be useful. I'll write you more in about thirty minutes. I'll analyze it for you, I love to help.
