A pre-pre-release look at Dragons of Tarkir. I have to say, I love the potential power of Dragonlord Kolaghan, it looks like Kolaghan Aggro might turn out to be very powerful indeed, especially if you can stay into the late game. The only issue here is that I could NOT find any decent and cheap burn spells anywhere in Fate Reforged or Dragons of Tarkir, at least nothing to rival either Magma Jet or Lightning Strike. So... Lightning Strike makes the cut even though I'd rather not have any cards from outside FRF or DTK.
Ideally, you want to get Dragon Tempest + Hardened Berserker in play for cheap Thunderbreaks (could substitute Dragonlord's Servant in place of Hardened Berserker, but I find the Berserker to be more flexible and useful overall), and a lot of damage as well as some soft spell protection. You can use Sarkhan's Triumph to help reach that point. From there, throwing in your two Kolaghans will deal some massive damage in the late game (as in turn 6-7) and keep your opponent locked down. Not a great strategy for a rush/aggro deck, but I'm curious to see how it goes. Otherwise very creature heavy, you want to try to cast a creature every turn if possible.Use Coat with Venom and Lightning Strike as kill spells mostly, but you can use Lightning Strike as a direct damage option. Dragon Tempest and Palace Siege offer you an ideal environment to be constantly dealing light damage.
