Deck discussion for modern show and tell

You get a +1 for the sheer ingenuity :D How did you come up with this masterpiece?

And a merry Christmas too

was looking through some old cards and saw through the breach, then this came into existence with the input of some of my friends and lots of play testing online. this is pretty much the final product, of course if you have any suggestions or ideas please tell id love to hear them.

And a merry Christmas to you too!

While it is a good and fun deck for modern, it should be noted that this is not an ingenious deck. This archetype (this exact 60 card list) has existed as an archetype in modern for some time.

While not necessarily negative, that comment just shows how little the average user of this site really knows about non-standard formats.

Pardon my ignorance - I don´t know much about the format, Modern. That´s why my mind was blown with this. Standard and Modern I know close-to-nothing about, so again, I´m sorry - and I certainly didn´t mean to offend anyone

No offense taken, and i don't mean to target you. I guess I'm mostly passive-aggressively calling out squidfreak for taking full credit for the deck concept.
Being ignorant to a format is no reason to not comment and appreciate decks, that was just a general complaint that the vast majority of players that use this site know very little of Modern and Legacy and thus make less than informed suggestions.
If you don't know modern, I'd encourage you take a look, it's a fairly fun format that offers features from both standard and legacy.

Thanks, man =) I was invited to a Wednesday Night Magic, where they play Modern, but I can´t afford to play it, sadly. Whenever I build a deck, usually in Legacy (since our shop allows proxies) and I think it to be good, I start collecting the pieces. However I am a poor man, so the decks I feel I need, gets obtained by either wishing for them or saving up over the course of many, many months. And, by then, there are new series to take account for.

Don´t mean to sound whiney, haha, it´s just reality for me =)

Merry Christmas to you all

He's right, this deck is a pretty popular 60 card list. Fortunately, it can't get Emrakul until it makes its way to 5 mana. It's actually the reason I play land destruction in modern.

Merry Christmas guys. kmk888, how do you suggest to play land destruction in modern? I've seen a few decks, but not sure how I want mine to run(I'm working with a Jund build with some random cards I have). http://www.mtgvault.com/kjsj3/decks/modern-lands-go-poof/

The deck can cast Emrakul t1 if it has the right cards.

Open with your land drop. Spirit guide-> Faithless looting-> Discard Emmy, grave trigger on the stack, Spirit Guide+ Land-> Goryo's Vengeance.

A t1 Emmy wont win the game without a follow up play though. Regenerating Griselbrand would be the better option.

Land Destruction is pretty bad in modern. I'm a big fan of LD and Prison style decks but honestly, they stink in Modern.

Also, this exact 60 i actually haven't seen. This deck is normally just BR and doesn't bother with a U splash. Although i did see a Todd Anderson list with a blue splash for Izzet Charm at one point, but i don't think he stuck with that list for any extended period of time.

This is the stock list as far as i know.

KJSJ3- the best land destruction in modern is fulminator mage. Honestly hits almost every land played widely in modern and if you can't find a land to hit it's always a bear on the side. You can also play molten rain, smallpox (although this usually requires a very specific deck), and avalanche riders.

The decks that play these cards are usually put together in two very specific ways. Either you play a pox deck, or you play something with fulminator mage and avalanche riders together with recursion. The best (and my favorite) example of this is Living End. They abuse cycling and cascade to form a high powered recursion loop. Another more fringe example is a Restore Balance cascade deck.

Anything budget friendly? I like the mentioned cards, some of witch are cheap(molten rain, smallpox...). I'll have to get some. Thanks.

Your best bet for cheap is a pox deck. Unfortunately, the curve topper in many of these is liliana of the veil, and she is pretty darn expensive. But budget pox isn't too hard, it mostly revolves around small recursive creatures like gravecrawler or, more often, bloodghast. They often feature heavy hand disruption (including blackmail, basically the only way to make people discard lands in modern) and big creature drops to finish off the game in a hurry like tombstalker. Two good cards for this build are kitchen finks and lingering souls

Another option is monored, using molten rain, stone rain, boom // bust, roiling terrain, shivan wumpus, magus of the moon, and sowing salt

for the deck you posted, I might try stone rain and shivan wumpus. They might help a bit

yo, that's embarrassing. i skipped maybe a few steps in that process. i do own a copy of through the breach, but i did not come up with this deck. i was in fact looking at modern decks to see if there was one with through the breach. which i found and put on here for the ones who do not know of this deck. sorry for taking credit.

My only issue with this.... there's no "Show and tell" spell in here lol. Other than that, this is awesome.

It uses Vengeance and Breach as a pseudo, and modern legal, show and tell.

No no no dude show and tell is like... it's above average power level in legacy. Be glad it's not in modern. It would break the format, destroy the format, relentlessly pummel the format into submission. The only thing left would be show and tell decks and pox decks

There was quite a lot of sarcasm in my original post. I know show and tell is not legal in modern for obvious reasons. That's why I said the deck is absolutely awesome.

Cool deck. Only question: Why Pentad Prism instead of Sphere of the Suns?

i like your list but like everyone has already said this list is pretty popular. Doesn't discount its power. If you have a change to look at my deck for modern.
