Deck Description

A planeswalker has decided to bring the infectious power of Phyrexia to the plane I battle in. I have fought with Phyrexian powers before. I will bring the true might of its full potential to them.

They are not prepared...

How to Play

Drop Plague Myr to begin ramping mana.
Drop Plague Stinger to block enemy fliers.
Drop Necropede or Flensermite to make your opponent think twice about attacking or blocking.
Drop Ichorclaw Myr to make your opponent think twice about blocking.
Drop Dark Ritual to help ramp mana.
Drop Sign in Blood to draw and get a card advantage.

Now it is time to start getting crafty.
Drop Hand of the Praetors for your general lord services.
Drop Core Prowler to offer some proliferation.
Drop Corpse Cur to resurrect your infect creatures. Try to keep Corpse Cur in your hand and use it to resurrect Corpse Cur.
Drop Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon to just start getting silly.

Sideboard Contagion Clasp, Blowfly Infestation and Contagion Engine if you feel you cannot keep up with your opponent's deck. Be wary of Blowfly Infestation. Its effect is not a "may," and you can kill your own creatures.
Sideboard Altar's Reap to if you feel you need to improve your card advantage.
Sideboard Gate of Phyrexia to deal with pesky artifacts.
Sideboard Carnifex Demon to field wipe everything. If you can get two Carnifex Demons on the field. Killing all creatures should be a simple task.

Deck discussion for Budget: Black Infect

Ugh I though I would never have to see infect again... Well here's what I have to say about it.
It looks pretty good although I'm surprised you don't have from affliction for creature removal/ proliferation. Or any other removal for that matter.
I would also suggest the zendikar sack lands if you can afford them.
Finally I would personaly run 2 skitherix's so you are more likely to draw him.

"I'm surprised you don't have from affliction for creature removal/ proliferation." What?

I like to have Skithiryx more of a "hey look what else I have in here" kind of a card. It is nice to get him, but I think I would prefer a fourth Corpse Cur, honestly.

Which lands are you talking about? I was going to look through the 41 land cards from the Zendikar block, but then I decided to not waste my time, haha.

Ahh! Grim Affliction. I see. Well, I was trying to avoid using control/proliferate spells. I wanted to try and stick with black creatures mostly.

I do not see how those lands would be helpful in my mono-black deck. :P

Ok that's fine if you don't want to use control

As far as the land helping you, its called deck thinning. For the price of one life you get to remove 2 lands from your deck so you are more likely to draw non-land cards. Try proxying some of them in to see the affect your self.

I think I get it, but where I am running swamps, and only swamps, all playing that land would do would make me take one damage for playing a swamp.

Like I said proxy in 4 of each to see If you don't draw into as much land, but know that they are kind of expensive.

You are telling me to replace eight Swamp with four Marsh Flats and four Verdant Catacombs, right?

Yes, although if you think the lifeloss is too much you could run 2 of each instead.

So, I feel trolled.

You are telling me it is better to pay 1 life to play a swamp than to simply play a swamp?

Okay, I get it... I hate it, but I get it.

Ok if you don't like them you don't have to use them so let me do a little math for you. Lets assume you are going first and got three lands in your opening hand and you decide to keep as that will allow you to play the rest of your deck considering your plague myr and dark rituals. Therefore you only want to draw non-land cards the rest of the game wich I assumed to be 6 turns. The chances of drawing all non-land cards when you only have swamps is 13.137%. But if all three of those lands were sack lands the new chance of drawing only non-land cards would be up to 16.767% so you are paying 3 life to have a 3%higher chance of not having a dead draw. Now decide if they are worthless. If you have questions on the math I would be happy to explain as well.

Well, thanks for the math, but like I said, I got it. I realized how it would be helpful. I may employ this trickery in my future deck building.

My luck with draws is awful, by the way. I often get mana starved. I usually start with a hand of at least two land, and then I hope I can stall long enough to get more land. Very often I am only playing with my starter hand. I cannot even explain this.
