*Casual Deck < $20* This is a Borderpost deck (land control) with Coalition Victory as a win condition. For creatures, use Transguild Courier/Fusion Elemental. For Land, use Nylea's Presence. Land/creature control with Balance/Realm Razer/Lavalanche/Ætherize.

Prismatic Omen is a better enchantment for having a land of each basic type and abundant growth is a better cantrip if you're manafixing the land. Cute as hell deck, though.

Prismatic Omen is better, I agree. I was aiming to keep the deck <$20, mainly as a challenge, so I decided to not use it. It's pricey at $10/ea. I will sideboard it for now, though - it's a valid point to make. Thanks for the feedback!
I complain about deck boosting, then people like a deck I made. I find (some) humor in that. What problem do you have with this build and/or what is your favorite card here (and why). I think that could spark some convo :P
I think that you could do with some creatures are a little low-costed so that you can hold an early-game. I would suggest the Alara Reborn "Shard Adjective-Blade" cycle as something you should look at (Jund Hackblade, Naya Hushblade, Bant Sureblade, Esper Stormblade, and Grixis Grimblade). Your manabase here is really flexible and can probably support these, seeing as the colors needed in their manacosts aren't too hard to get on the board with all the posts. I'm sure it's obvious, but the posts will give them their buffs. A LOT of Alara block commons are really underrated for multicolor budget, so I really recommend you look through those. I don't see the Courier being super-necessary *if* you do decide to take in a few more of these small multi-colored creatures. Yore-Tiller nephilim is also another possible option. Let me know what you think!
Knight of New Alara, if it doesn't set you over budget, would work well, in particular. Glory-Scale Viashino, too.
@pkmnfn I don’t disagree! I actually currently have a deck with those 2 drops (and considered Yore-Tiller nephilim for it); it does work well. My hesitations are space and Balance. If I get one creature down before balance, I let them keep one more creature. In terms of space, I could cut the courier and elemental for one of each of the five and the nephilim before I have to start cutting control. I’m not completely opposed (I like those 2 drops;) however, I’m (personally) not sure how to maximize Balance while keeping the effectiveness of Coalition Victory and space for control. Maybe I don’t have to have as much control, and maybe I don’t have to hyper focus Balance. I’m not completely sure lol @IamAlphaGeek Knight of New Alara is quite nice. In a deck heavily supporting the shard creatures (mentioned above) it is especially effective. My only concern with Knight of New Alara is that by definition of use, it conflict with Balance; Knight of New Alara is better with more creatures while Balance is better with les creatures. That being said, I’ve started working on a deck that supports the sound advice you gave me. Thank you. (I’ll link it when/if I finish it, just incase you want to see that)

Forgot about Balance. XD But it would give you an alternate win condition in your sideboard against decks that it wouldn't help against.
Very true!
A lot about this deck is cool. Might have to try something like this. Not sure this would. Be very fast but I guess with balance one doesn't need too much speed
It is slow; you are right! I was thinking about speed at first, but 8CMC is hard to rush too, without cutting somewhere else. If you have any ideas that could speed it up, I'd be happy to know them. And let me know if you try something like it, thorwing ideas back and forth usually make both decks better.
I always liked explore. Since you get the Mana from your land returning. Being able to drop the same LANs twice in the same turn seems good. Or perhaps something that does removal early game. Like a lightning bolt just to keep you kicking in the first few turns.
I originally decided against explore because I thought, "I don't really need lands;" however, you're right - it means a second Borderpost. I'll cut somewhere :)
maybe a couple Rule of Law may help your cause a little here as far as controlling the game a little
I'll sideboard it for now. I think it's a card worth testing before commiting to.
for sure.... i play it in a couple of my own decks.... it does limit yourself to one spell as well... ,but when you have a control style game or a very aggro deck I find it is pretty useful :)
Question: How do you intend to get rid of Realm Razer when you want to Coalition Victory?
You pose a fine question (and a trick question). In theory, at least one land should be aside in my hand, from Borderposts. Playing that land with Nylea's Presence qualifies Coalition Victory. I like how close you are looking, though ;)
Still feels a bit slim, but then, I suppose you just don't play him unless the situation is right. Nonetheless.
Swap Balance for Restore Balance if legality is desired. Main issue I would see is vs land destruction or extraction. The main problem is finding suitable replacements to fit said budget. Might try a version of this using the cycle mechanic. Check out my budget borderpost deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/kjsj3/decks/borderpost-suspension/
I almost ran both Balance and Restore Balance :P I decided against it, at first, because without really investing into suspend support, it is a rather slow card. I do like it; it's a pretty fun twist for Modern, too.
