I sometimes wonder if there is any correlation between how much I like a deck I build and how much you guys(/gals) like it. Besides the cheap ones, I have no idea :P

i made a deck similar to this a while back. (no baron glory tho)http://www.mtgvault.com/capj4/decks/you-win-you-win-you-win/
Potato?
Nice use of Wall of Glare, you don't see it much in these types of decks. You should consider a way to lose life; no one will risk lowering your life with Platinum Angel/Near-Death in play - leaving you banking on stopping a defeat with x4 Angel's Grace. That isn't bad; it's just that you are left with lots of survival filler with no control and little actual combo. Most of the impressive Near-Death decks I've seen generally combo with red or black. An the other note, I too have been building similar decks like this for a while (largely unnoticed :P). There have been a handful of evolutions, I think if you keep rebuilding your deck, you'll be surprised with what you come up with. [I'm a big dollar stickler btw. Would you say its cost of x5 as much makes the deck x5 as much? If you do, then you're made in the shade, my friend! If it's only twice as good, question every card, do some research, and see what else you can come up with. I've found that dollar restrictions are good to start with so you can force yourself to do heavier research - later you can ignore money if you feel you want some nice cards] And as always, thanks for checking mine out ;)
@KJSJ3 How do you mean, sir?
It's an Ifunny reference. That being said, interesting deck sir.
@spudshaver yes i know they wont wana lower my health thats why i also have darksteel reactor. and wall of glare plus ghostly possesion for mega blocks
just have near death out and play angels grace. they wont expect it. just dont block they swing for enough to kill you and BAM angels grace.
I think most experience players would actually assume you will be playing Angel's Grace when you have Near-Death on the field (or at least something very similar). I, personally, would be much more surprised if someone played Near-Death and did not have Angel's Grace in their deck - esp. in a mono white deck. As long as someone asks why you play each card you play, a card like Near-Death comes with a lot of assumptions about what else you have.
also have worship. letsjust hope they dont have remove enchantment. my deck is just based off not losing. if your life doesnt go down sp what you havnt lost. thats good. darksteel reactor and start pumping out tokens.
I want to note I’m only playing devil’s advocate, I have nothing against your deck – I like it. On one had I agree that, “If your life doesn’t go down so what you haven’t lost, that’s good.” At the same time, if as a deck builder you are considering Near-Death Experience as a win condition and that condition is not being met, economically, that is not a good thing. Functionally, you have a wasted card if you survive just fine with Near-Death in play. In theory, you could simply replace it with a card that support Darksteel Reactor and win faster / with more stability. Our decks have similarities, but are fundamentally different in their goals. You deck is designed to prevent loss, while mine is designed to “lose” (have no life, permanents, or hand). One could argue that any overlap between our decks could be seen as questionable, not necessarily misplaced, but being able to benefit from a close look.
Worship is a fine choice btw, and my mistake for ignoring it.
true
I would put some pyrexian mana in there too so you can bleed yourself out if needed.
Type your deck name...I placed Wall of Blood as the main "bleeder," in addition to the slight help from Dismember. Did you have anything in mind?
Being that it's only two, I would use Immolating over the Wall, or both.
I wouldn't be throwing too much life away before playing Near-Death Experience. It cost five, so the cost between two and three isn't much of a concern (for me at least). I'm more interested in the mechanic and untility of the card(s). Wall of Blood "Bleeds" one life at a time, instead of two - that's the main reason I chose it. That being said, however, it is a good card to note and I have sideboarded it for now. Thank you, sir.
Yeah, I like that Wall of Blood is for 1 life rather than two. No idea if there's room to take out anything else, I was actually thinking it might be nice to have both, giving you a higher chance of having a bleed available when you need it and if all else fails, 2 mana chump blocker/beater.
I'm going to sleep on it. There is no question that it has value here, it's simply a question of relative value - and cutting cards is always the hardest part :P
Gimmicky. Me-sa likey.
I did a similar deck strictly built around Near-Death deck with Luminarch Ascension as a secondary win-condition.http://www.mtgvault.com/roar/decks/yes-your-holiness/
Sir, I was your first post ~Posted 09 August 2013 at 21:52
Haha, nice....it's a small world after all :D
maybe run dark ritual so you can bring out your end game enchantments faster.
That's not a bad idea. What would you cut? -3 Divine Deflection +2 Dark Ritual +1 Journey to Nowhere
