Deck discussion for Rakdos Midrange

The only thing I can think of is maybe some draw, other than that I like it. I made something similar,

Aggro decks don't really utilize draw that much. I like it though, very aggressive deck. Good job.

True, figured I'd suggest it for just in case reasons. You could drop a couple heralds for a couple read the bones, or erebos or something if it becomes an issue. Thanks for the feedback.

Erebos, sure...but not Purphoros.

Also, I don't understand the Thoughtseize in an aggressive deck like this (although maybe that's because I don't play Standard often.)

It's just a good card. Granted I put it in sb in my r/b aggro just because I have the sb set up with more control cards. It doesn't really hurt anything though, turn one they either get a cackler or remove a potential threat early on.

Also thoughtseizing a wrath or d-sphere is good

Thoughtseize helps you plan a line of attack and sets your opponent back at the same time. It is also the best card in all of standard.

I wouldn't go to the extent of "best", but yes, it is very very good.

Lol, yeah my buddy and I argue on this a lot. I think Thoughseize, he says Mutavault. Reasoning for me is Thoughseize is the dominate card in the meta. You don't build a deck with out considering how you play against black (almost all black builds have TS in the 75 if not in the main deck). His is that Mutavault is good in almost any deck. Both have their merits though. For me it is definitely one of the two.

What is Havoc Festival for? Can't say Im a fan. I'd run Slaughter Games as a two of in the board instead of festival and Sire.

Havoc and Sire are for matches against control decks, im aggro therefore i can lose life because all they will be doing is waiting for turn 6 to aetherling most of the time or obzedat, same with the Sire :D

Sire is better at it though because if they don't have an instant speed answer they just don't have an answer

Havoc allows you to kill them faster tho :P

Slughter Games is just better positioned. They will hit land faster than you, and that makes festival and sire worse because they both cost so much to play.

Slaughter games is also very good against control decks. I wouldn't fault someone for running four in a midrange deck

Slaughter Games calling Elspeth and/or Sphinx's Revelation. You've pretty much killed their deck.

Or atherling

I personally don't run AEtherling in the maindeck but yea, that is another good card to call when facing control.

Slaughter games in the main deck is pretty bad though. You give up a lot of ground versus an aggro deck or the smaller side of midrange decks

This deck looks awesome! amazing fun to play!!

My only suggestion would be to filter out some cards. in my opinion any card you only have 2 of isnt obviously good enough to have 4 of. I would choose the best ones and put in 4 instead of lots of 2's. I would want more consistency in my approach. But maybe thats just me! All the cards are good and well suited but i would choose the ones you always want and take out the ones you sometimes want.

Would you mind commenting on my deck, its a new black white deck making use of the new mechanics and I am trying to get it right!

Running 2 copies doesn't diminish the cards usefulness. It could mean any number of things. I wouldn't run 4 copies of any legendary, unless it's a key component to the deck, or otherwise you'll just clog your hand. I run 2-3 copies of different cards in my control/midrange builds just because it allows you to utilize more cards and helps curve out the mana a little. (Yes I know running 4 cmcs 4 is the same as running 2 different sets of 2 cmcs 4.) Now in like aggro build, yeah I'd just pick the best for the job and go balls deep with the full playsets. Basically, in my opinion, it just all depends on the build and the individual's play style.
